아르누보 이미지의 드레스 디자인 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine actual design cases of decorative detail in the Art Nouveau style from the end of 19th century to the beginning of 20th century, and create designs and fashion works to meet our contemporary fashion trends by means of over-decorative style, a characteristic of decorative detail. The characteristics of decorative detail in the Art Nouveau style can be outlined as follows: First, pleats appear with two major feels of solidity, undulated and curvilinear solidity based on gather(ruffle, frill/ flare and flounce) and regular and linear solidity based on linear pleats or tucks. Second, embroidery appears in various patterns developed with stitch of solid feel as well as a variety of coloration effects. Third, attachments are expressed by means of independent motif(appliqu?), gloss effects(beads, sequins), affluent texture and mobility(fur, feather). Moreover, according to technical characteristics and expressive aspects of pleats, embroidery and attachments, it is found that decorative detail in the era of Art Nouveau is over-decorative style. Indeed, it appears in major expressive aspects such as rhythmical solid type, detailed prominence type, superficial touch type and profound volume type. Based on these results, this study sought to design fashion works using attachments under two theme - Neo-Amethyst and Neo-Kissing. Neo-Amethyst refers to double panel evening dress with S- letter silhouette using natural curviness of human body. Natural waved form of dress which consists of several curves and is made of silk chiffon for natural draping effects highlights natural but beautiful contours, and reflects on elements of retro style, while appearing in modern design looks. Additionally, beads and stone attachments are used for decorative to express solid and apparent contrast effects through design points. Neo-Kissing refers to double panel evening dress with A-letter silhouette using natural curviness of human body. Natural waved form of dress which consists of several curves and is made of silk chiffon for natural draping effects highlights natural but beautiful contours, and reflects on elements of retro style, while appearing in modern design looks. Additionally, beats and stone attachments are used for decorative to express solid and apparent contrast effects through design points. Conclusively, it is expected that the introduction of Art Nouveau images into dress designs will be able to show another new ways of dress design as well as reproduce retro styles, and allow us make dress works with more originality, higher value added and higher merchantability. In addition, it is also expected that the introduction of Art Nouveau style to our contemporary costumes in diversified fashion trends around the 21st century will help us deepen our understanding of Art Nouveau style and make it rooted as a new artistic possibility in our modern fashion.;본 연구는, 19세기 말에서 20세기 초까지 아르누보 양식 장식 디테일의 디자인을 연구하여, 장식 디테일의 특성인 과잉장식 양식의 이미지를 가지고 고 부가가치 드레스 디자인을 기획하고 작품을 제작하는데 목적이 있다. 아르누보 양식의 특징은 C자형과 S자형의 유기적인 곡선과 자연스러운 드레이퍼리를 기초로 하고 색채는 pale color이며 성숙한 여인의 세련된 엘레강스를 일관되게 호화롭고 환상적인 과잉장식 표현한 것이다. 그 과잉장식 디테일의 특성을 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 주름에 의한 장식은 곡선형주름인 러플, 프릴, 플라운스에 의한 파상의 곡선적인 입체감과 직선형주름인 플리츠, 턱에 의한 규칙적이고 직선적인 입체감으로 나타난다. 둘째, 자수에 의한 장식은 입체감을 주는 스티치에 의해 다양한 패턴의 전개와 다양한 색채 효과로 나타난다. 셋째, 부착에 의한 장식은 독립된 모티프 형인 아플리케와 광택효과인 비즈(보석, 유리, 크리스털, 스톤), 시퀸 그리고 풍부한 질감과 움직임에 의한 유동성인 모피와 깃털로 나타난다. 이상의 연구 결과를 중심으로 부착에 의한 방법으로 드레스 작품을 2점 기획하였다. 테마는 “Neo-Amethyst”와 “Neo-Kissing”이다. 첫째, “Neo-Amethyst”는 우아하고 여성적인 아름다움을 표현하기 위해 허리와 힙을 피트되게 디자인한 S자형 실루엣의 자주색 더블패널 이브닝드레스이다. 여기에 장식적인 요소로 비즈와 스톤을 사용하여 입체적이고 뚜렷한 명암효과를 디자인 포인트로 나타냈다. 둘째, “Neo-Kissing”는 자연스럽게 드레이프되는 시폰을 사용하여 패널 장식을 한 A자형 실루엣의 회색 더블패널 이브닝드레스이다. 여러 곡선들로 구성된 드레스의 자유로운 웨이브 형태는 복고적인 요소를 반영하며, 자연스러운 형태미를 강조하고, 동시에 현대적인 디자인으로 나타냈다. 또한 비즈와 스톤을 장식에 사용하여 입체적이고 뚜렷한 명암효과를 디자인 포인트로 나타냈다. 이 결과 드레스 디자인에 있어서 아르누보 이미지의 도입은, 복고풍의 재현뿐만 아니라 드레스 디자인의 새로운 방향을 제시할 수 있으며, 보다 독창적이고 고부가가치의 상품성 있는 드레스를 제작 할 수 있었다.
