여고생 교복 디자인 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 교복 자율화(1982년) 이후 1985년 교복 자율화 보완 조치에 의해 교복 재 착용 시대에 있는 현재, 디지털 세대인 여고생의 패션 의식과 교복 착용 실태를 연구하여 그들의 욕구가 반영된 바람직한 교복 디자인을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구방법은 여고생의 특성과 패션의식에 관련된 문헌과 연구, 국내 학생복 유명브랜드(ELITE, IVY, SMART) 등의 학생복 디자이너와의 인터뷰, 각 인터넷 사이트를 통하여 이론적인 배경을 제시하였다. 실제적 연구는 교복착용 학생 및 교복 업체에서 비치하고 있는 교복, 교복관련 인터넷 사이트의 교복을 자료화하여 제시함으로 여고생 교복 디자인을 분석하고 개선 방향을 제시하였다. 그리고 이를 토대로 우리 나라 여고생 교복 디자인을 기획하여 춘·추·동복, 하복 각 한 벌씩을 제작하였다. 교복이란 면학의식을 위해 만든 학생의 공식적인 의복으로, 우리나라의 교복은 1886년 이화학당의 한복 교복을 효시로 착용되기 시작하였으며 교복을 착용하는 여성은 신여성으로서 선망의 대상이 되었다. 그 후 교복은 양장과 한복이 공존했으나 1930년대부터 양장 교복으로 정착하게 되었는데, 현재는 95%이상의 학교에서 교복 착용을 실시하고 있다. 그러나 현재는 교복 착용에 대한 의미가 쇠락 되어 통제와 구속의 의미로 받아들여지고 있다. 디지털 시대의 우리 나라 여고생은 대부분 컴퓨터가 있는 풍요로운 환경에서 성장하여 인터넷을 생활화하는 세대로서 새로운 문화를 접할 기회가 많으며 시각적 표현에 민감한 감성세대이다. 이들은 특히 의복이나 외모에 큰 관심과 흥미를 나타내며 저마다의 개성과 취향 그리고 기호에 맞는 각기 다른 패션으로 자신들을 표현할 줄 아는 세대이다. 이들의 이러한 패션 의식은 교복 착용에 대한 태도에서 부정적인 경향을 나타내었다. 이들의 교복 불만족의 이유는 교복 디자인이 촌스럽거나 개성이 없고 활동이 불편한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 여고생의 과반수가 예쁘게 하기 위해 고쳐 입어 본 본 경험이 있었다. 선호하는 교복 디자인으로 재킷은 테일러드 칼라에 ??여밈, 스커트는 A라인, 블라우스는 셔츠 칼라 블라우스였고, 색상은 검정색, 감색 등을 중시하는 것으로 나타났다. 여고생들은 무난하면서도 세련성과 활동성을 갖춘 단정한 이미지의 교복을 원하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 현재 착용되고 있는 교복 디자인 사례들을 분석한 결과 비슷한 디테일과 색상임에도 재킷 칼라의 크기와 길이, 다트와 재단선, 디테일의 크기와 장식선, 여유분과 옷 길이 등의 차이에 따라 같은 디자인, 소재, 색상의 교복도 세련됨이 다르게 나타났다. 그러므로 현재 착용되고 있는 교복들은 디테일의 크기와 실루엣, 재단선, 장식선 등에 유행과 개성에 따른 약간의 변화를 가미하여 학생들의 욕구가 충족된 세련된 디자인의 교복 착용을 유지시켜 나가야 할 것이다. 또한 새로운 디자인의 교복은 학생들의 욕구를 적극 수용하여 교복 본래의 기능인 상징성, 기능성, 경제성, 심미성이 상실되지 않는 범위에서 세련되고 단정한 이미지의 바람직한 교복 디자인을 제시해야 할 것이다. 이상의 연구를 바탕으로 본 논문에서는 'neat & cheerful' 을 테마로 한 춘 · 추 · 동복, 하복을 위한 여고생 교복 디자인을 창작하였다. 타깃은 15-19세의 여고생이며, 소재는 고급스러움과 실용적인 면을 고려한 캐시미어, 개버딘, T/W, T/C를 사용하여 이미지 맵, 작업 지시서를 작성하고 실제로 작품을 제작하였다. 춘 · 추 · 동복의 디자인은 재킷의 길이가 짧고 세 개 단추가 달린 재킷, 조끼, 스커트, 블라우스의 투피스 스타일이며 색상은 단정하고 세련된 느낌의 짙은 감색이다. 하복 디자인은 세일러 칼라의 블라우스와 A자형 플리츠가 특징인 A라인 플리츠 스커트의 투피스로 색상은 흰색과 짙은 감색을 사용하여 여고생의 욕구가 반영된 세련되고 활동적이며 단정한 이미지의 교복 디자인을 제시하는데 초점을 두었다.;After the liberalization of uniforms(1980), present is the resumed period of essential school uniforms by supplementary measures in 1985 against the liberalization of the dress code. Major objective of this thesis is presenting desirable design of uniforms which could reflect high school girls' demands with the researches on their consciousness of fashion and actual state of uniforms. Initial theoretic researches include 1st, examinations on characteristics of high school girls and their consciousness of fashion with relevant articles, 2nd interviews with designers from major domestic uniform brands - ELITE, IVY, SMART - and 3rd analysis on related internet sites. Practical researches follow with design analysis and proposal of improvement on high school girls' uniform, accompanied by collection of photographs from field studies, major uniform brands' shops and uniform related internet sites. Bases on above I've schemed spring/fall/winter wuit and summer uniform then also tailored each for average high school girl. School uniform is an official student clothing especially designed for studious attitude. In Korea it originated from Korean clothes at Ewha educational institute in 1886 and any female in uniform was public object of envy as a modern woman. Then both Korean and western clothes performed as uniforms until western clothes begin to settle down as uniforms in 1930's. At present over 95% of secondary schools have uniforms however they are no longer the symbol of 'modern' but degenerated into control and restriction instead. Korean high school girls in the digital era, mostly brought up in affluent circumstances with each personal computer and easy internet access as a part of daily lives, belong to 'generation of sensitivity' who are fairly sensitive to any visuals and also widely open to various opportunities towards new cultures on internet. They are able to express themselves in each different fashion with own individuality, preference or intention, as they are particularly interested in clothes or their appearances. Their consciousness of fashion became visible in a shape of negative attitude and dissatisfaction with uniforms due to its out-of-date design, lack of features and inconvenience in action were observed. Besides more than half of high school girls already experienced reforming it for better looks. Preferred uniform design included tailored collar and singles breast for jacket, 'A' line for skirt and shirts collar for blouse. Black, navy and etc were the first choices in colors. Thus I've come to understand high school girls wished the uniforms to be ordinary, refined and dynamic with neat image. As a result of current analysis on references of uniform designs, various levels of refinement were noticed even in uniform of similar details, design, fabric textile and color due to differences on size & length of jacket collar, dart, cutting line, size of details, decorative line, easiness in fit, length of clothes. and etc. To provide students of more refined and desired designs which reflect their demands, current uniforms are to begin acquiring delicate changes with present vogue and feature such as size of details, silhouette, cutting line, decorative line and etc. In addition newly designed uniforms are to present desirable design with image of refinement and neat as they actively comprehend students' needs within its symbolic, functional, economic and aesthetic characteristics by nature. Based on above researches I've created each design of spring/fall/winter suit and summer uniform for average high school girl with a theme of 'neat & cheerful'. Focusing on female students between 15 and 19 years old, I've schemed image map and operation sheet with cashmere, gabardine, T/W and T/C which were considered to be practical and in high-qualities. Design of Spring/fall/winter suit is two=piece style in tidy and elegant dark blue color which includes short jacket with three-buttons, vest, skirt and blouse. While design of summer uniform is two-piece suit in white and dark blue color including blouse with sailor collar and A-line pleats skirt with pleats of 'A' shape as its specific feature. It is focusing on proposing refined, dynamic and decent uniform with neat image which also reflected high school girls' demands.
