현대 여성 패션에 나타난 레이스 표현을 중심으로 한 웨딩드레스 디자인 연구

Abstract

With antipathy against the modern materialism, newly recognizing the past in the middle of yearning for it, and groping for new direction toward the future, various ways to seek for exit was attempted. In this trend of the times, romantic image has been raised. The romantic image shown in the modern fashion has been changed into and mixed with various types, affected from social flow and fashion trend. Especially in a romantic fashion being more stressed since 2000, lace has been used as a main material. As the wedding dress is featured by romantic style, lace is being used for main fabric. Modern brides of marked individuality are sensitive to up-to-date mode, and want special wedding ceremony at differentiated place, as well as special wedding dress, in consideration with their tastes and styles, which means versified taste and sensibility. As reflecting these customer's demands, more personal and distinctive design was planned reflecting trend in the sector of wedding dress. For this, design factor was first examined through theoretical consideration on the wedding dress, and then trend of modern wedding dress design was reviewed by surveying wedding dress market and customer's characteristics. In addition, based on the theoretical examination on lace, analyzing lace materials expressed in the modern women's fashion according to the four classifications of customer's emotional trend image, that is, romantic & elegance, sexy & gorgeous, modern, and active, the following findings were drawn. First, as the result of examining the feature og wedding dress according to the age, in ancient times, chiton-like drapery style dress was shown, in the Middle Ages, Cotardie style was expressed with many gorgeous ornaments. Modern times presented Bell, Bustle, Crinoline style, and an empire style wedding dress was spread. In the end of the 19th century, Bustle style showed up. In the 20th century, primarily X-line style was presented, and since the 21th century, H-line, slim A-line, sheath_line, etc. came into fashion. Regarding materials, in ancient times, natural materials like linen and silk were mainly used, since the Middle Ages, satin, silk, lace, chiffon, organza, taffeta etc. were used. Regarding colors, from ancient times to the Middle Ages, various colors such as yellow, white, red, blue, and pink were expressed, since the Middle Ages, white wedding dress started to popularize changing the meaning of displaying competence into the one of symbolizing purity. Second, ad the result of analyzing lace expression shown in the modern women's fashion according to romantic & elegance, sexy & gorgeous, modern, and active image, lace in romantic & elegance image showed pretty and lovely image with a frill and puff. For materials, thin lace like Chantilly and leavers and chiffon with strong drapery property were both used, and pastel-tone or light and pale-tone colors were mainly used. Lace in sexy & gorgeous image used see-through leaver, Chantilly lace and glossy material, and expressed splendor with strong colors such as silver, red, and black. Lace in modern image Minimized decorative expression with a suit style or a simple one-piece style, or used geometric and simple patterned lace. For colors, achromatic colors such as white, silver, and black were used to show modern image. Lace in active image showed dynamic and light image as laying cluny or eyelet on the hem line of pants or short skirt, or mixing lace to denim or check-pattern fabric, and clear and bright colors were mainly used. Third, based on the above findings, five images of works, romantic & elegance, sexy & gorgeous, modern, and active image, with the concept of 'Blooming Bride', were manufactured. Work Ⅰ showed romantic mood with pastel-tone empire style plus puff sleeves. Work Ⅱ expressed mysterious and noble mood with Cortardie style plus violet and white. Work Ⅲ presented Corset-look with skin-tone silk satin to express sexy image with indirect exposure effect. Work Ⅳ expressed modern and chic bride's image with fan-type machine pleats and silver color representing urban sense. Work Ⅴ showed bright and active bride's image with multi-layered lace and pleated tulle. Through the development of wedding dress design, lace was found a factor to revive modern bride's personality. But lace was not largely differentiated form the existing material for wedding dress. Beside, various designs could not be suggested according to the different wedding halls, and after making wedding dress, extent of satisfaction has not been estimated. Accordingly, through another study on the design preference of brides, actual consumers, and different design factor has to be developed, furthermore, even after design development, follow-up study should be conducted according to continual customer's satisfaction and demand.;현대의 물질 만능주의에 대한 반감으로 과거에 대한 동경과 향수에 젖어들어 과거를 새롭게 인식하고, 미래에 대한 새로운 방향을 모색하는 등 다양한 방법으로 탈출구를 찾아왔다. 이러한 시대적 추세와 유행의 흐름 속에 로맨틱한 이미지가 대두되었다. 현대 패션에 나타난 로맨틱한 이미지는 사회적 흐름 및 패션 트렌드에 따라 많은 영향을 받으면서 여러 가지 유형으로 변화, 혼합되어 표현되고 있다. 특히 2000년 이후 더욱 강조되기 시작한 로맨틱한 패션에서 레이스는 주요한 소재로 사용되어지고 있다. 웨딩드레스는 로맨틱한 스타일이 가장 두드러지는 복식으로 레이스가 주요한 소재로 사용되어지고 있다. 개성이 뚜렷한 현대의 신부들은 최신 유행 트렌드에 민감하고 본인의 취향과 스타일을 고려하여 웨딩드레스뿐만 아니라 결혼식이 진행되는 과정이나 예식 장소 선택 시에도 남과 다른 것을 원하는 등 기호나 감성이 다양하게 변화하고 있다. 이러한 소비자의 요구를 반영하여 웨딩드레스 분야에서 좀 더 트렌드를 반영한 개성적이고 차별화된 디자인 개발을 하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 웨딩드레스에 대한 이론적 고찰을 통해 디자인 요소를 살펴보았고, 웨딩드레스 시장 및 소비자 특성을 조사하여 현대 웨딩드레스 디자인 경향을 살펴보았다. 또한 레이스에 대한 이론적 고찰을 바탕으로 현대 여성 패션에 나타난 레이스 소재 표현을 소비자 감성트렌드 이미지의 4가지 분류인 로맨틱 & 엘레강스, 섹시 & 고저스, 모던, 액티브에 따라 분석하여 작품을 제작하였으며, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 웨딩드레스의 특징을 시대별로 살펴본 결과 스타일은 고대에는 키톤과 같은 드레이퍼리형 드레스로 나타났고, 중세에는 꼬따르디 스타일로 화려한 장식이 많이 표현되었다. 근세에는 벨, 버슬, 크리놀린 스타일로 나타났으며, 근대에는 엠파이어 스타일의 웨딩드레스가 유행하였고 19세기 말에는 버슬 스타일이 나타났다. 20세기에는 주로 X 라인의 스타일이 나타났으며, 21세기 이후 H 라인, 슬림한 A 라인, 시스 라인 등으로 다양하게 표현되었다. 소재는 고대에 린넨과 실크 등 천연소재가 주로 사용되었고, 중세 이후 새틴, 실크, 레이스, 시폰, 오간자 타프타 등이 사용되었다. 색상은 고대에서 중세까지 옐로우, 화이트, 레드, 블루, 핑크 등 다양하게 나타났고, 중세 이후 화이트 웨딩드레스가 재력 과시의 의미에서 순결을 상징하는 의미로 변화되면서 대중화되기 시작하였다. 둘째, 현대 여성 패션에 나타난 레이스 표현을 로맨틱 & 엘레강스, 섹시 & 고저스, 모던, 액티브에 따라 분석한 결과 로맨틱 & 엘레강스 이미지에 나타난 레이스는 프릴, 퍼프 등으로 귀엽고 사랑스러운 이미지를 표현하였다. 소재는 챈틸리, 리버 레이스 같은 얇은 레이스와 드레이프성이 강한 시폰 등이 함께 사용되었고, 색상은 파스텔톤이나 라이트, 페일톤의 색이 주를 이루었다. 섹시 & 고저스 이미지에 나타난 레이스는 신체의 선이 드러나는 얇은 리버 레이스, 챈틸리 레이스나 광택 소재를 사용하였고, 실버, 레드, 블랙 등의 강렬한 색상을 사용하여 화려함을 표현하였다. 모던 이미지에서 나타난 레이스 표현은 슈트 스타일이나 심플한 원피스 스타일로 장식적인 표현을 최소화하거나, 기하학적이며 단순한 문양의 레이스를 사용하였다. 색상은 무채색의 화이트, 실버, 블랙을 주로 사용하여 모던한 이미지를 나타냈다. 액티브 이미지에 나타난 레이스 표현은 팬츠나 짧은 스커트의 햄 라인을 클루니 레이스나 아일렛 레이스로 심플하게 장식하거나, 데님 또는 체크무늬 소재에 레이스를 혼용하여 활동적이며 경쾌한 이미지를 나타내며, 선명하고 밝은 색상을 주로 사용하였다. 셋째, 위의 결과를 바탕으로 ‘Blooming Bride’ 이라는 컨셉으로 로맨틱 & 엘레강스, 섹시 & 고저스, 모던, 액티브 이미지의 5 가지 작품 제작을 하였다. 작품Ⅰ은 파스텔톤의 엠파이어 스타일에 퍼프소매로 로맨틱한 분위기를 연출하였고, 작품Ⅱ는 흐르는 듯한 꼬따르디 스타일에 바이올렛 색상과 화이트 색상의 조화로 신비하며 고귀한 느낌을 표현하였다. 작품 Ⅲ은 간접적인 노출 효과로 섹시한 이미지를 표현하기 위해 스킨 톤의 공단을 사용하여 코르셋 룩으로 나타냈으며, 작품 Ⅳ는 규칙적인 부채형 기계 주름과 도회적인 감성을 나타내는 실버 색상을 포인트로 사용하여 모던하고 세련된 신부의 이미지를 표현하였다. 작품Ⅴ는 여러 겹의 레이스와 튤 등을 층층이 주름 잡아 경쾌한 율동감이 느껴지게 하여 밝고 활발한 이미지의 신부를 표현하였다. 이러한 웨딩드레스 디자인 개발을 통하여 레이스 소재가 현대 예비 신부들의 개성을 살릴 수 있는 디자인 요소임을 알 수 있었다. 하지만 다양한 예식 장소에 따른 웨딩드레스 디자인 제안을 하지 못하였고, 웨딩드레스 작품을 제작한 후 만족도를 평가하지 못한 한계점이 있었다. 따라서 실질적인 소비자인 신부들의 디자인 선호도에 관한 연구를 통한 다른 디자인 요소의 개발이 이루어져야 할 것이며 디자인 개발 후에도 지속적인 소비자의 만족도와 요구에 따른 후속 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다.
