가정의 사회경제적 배경과 초등학교 아동의 클럽활동과의 관계

Abstract

This study intends to find out what kind of relations there are between family socio-economic background and club activities of elementary school children. This study considered as factors which exercised influence on the club activities of children, the father's educational level, the mother's educational level, the father's occupation, the mother's occupation, montly income of the family, residential environment, living conditions, family circumstances, location of the school et cetera. This study clarified what the background factors are which make a difference in the club activities of children and what kind of correlation exists between each of these background factors and the club activities of children. In order to achieve the objectives of this study, the subject of this study has been divided into four topics. First, whether there exist differences in the attitude ol a child to club activities according to their family's socio-economic background. Second, whether there exist differences in the frequence of participation in club activities according to the family's socio-economic background. Third, whether there exist differences in the educational results of the club activities of a child according to the family's socio-economic background. Four, whether there exist differences in the parents' interest in the club activities of a child according to the family's socio-economical background. Drawing upon previous studies which have indicated that among the several socio-economic factors the degree of urbanization is an important influence, 593 students of 4 different elementary schools in each of the cities of Seoul, Chonju and Han'an-gun in Kyongnam Province, divided in the categories of large-size city, middle to small-size city and provincial size and below, have been taken as the objects of this study and have been examined in order to answer the questions of this study. The data of this study have been organized by using T test, χ^(2), One Way ANOVA and Correlation in order to concretely analyze the subject of this study. The results of this study have been categorized as follows in four ways. First, there are significant differences in the club activities of a child according to the family's monthly income, but there are no significant differences according to the father's educational level, the mother's educational level, the father's occupation, the mother's occupation, the residential environment, living conditions, the circumstances of the child within the family, the circumstances of the family, location of the school et cetera. Further has it come forth that there is a significant correlation between the monthly income of the family and the attitude of the child to club activities, but that the intensity of this correlation js low. That there is a correlation between the father's educational level, the mother's educational level, the father's occupation, the mother's occupation, the residential enviroment, living conditions, the circumstances of the child within the family et cetera and the attitude of the child to club activities has not come forth. Second, that there are significant differences in the frequency of participation in club activities of a child according to the lather's educational level, the mother's educational level, residential environment, the circumstances of a child within the family, living conditions, family circumstances, location of the school et cetera. But there are no significant differences in the frequency of paticipation of a child in club activities according to the father's occupation, the mother's occupation, the family's monthly income et cetera. Further has it come forth that there is a negative correlation between between the father's educational level and the frequency of participation in club activities of the child, but that the intensity of the correlation is low. Third, that there are significant differences in the educational results achieved through club activities of a child according to the monthly income of a family, but that there are no significant differences in the educational results achieved through club activities of a child according to the father's educational level, the mother's educational level, the father's occupation. the mother's occupation, the residential environment, living conditions, the circumstances of a child within the family, family circumstances, location of the school et cetera. Further has it come forth that there is a significant correlation between the monthly income of the family and the educational results achieved through club activities, but that the intensity of this correlation is low. Four, that there are significant differences in the parents' interest in the club activities of a child according to the father's educational level, the mother's educational level, the father's occupation, monthly income of the family, residential environment, living conditions, family circumstances, location of the school et cetera, while there are no significant differences in the parent's interest in the club activities of a child according to the occupation of the mother. Further has it come forth that there is a significant correlation between the father's educational background, the mother's educational level, the father's occupation, the monthly income of the family, residential environment, the circumstances of a child within the family et cetera and the parents' interest in the club activities of a child, but that there is no correlation between the occupation of the mother and the parents' interest in the club activities of a child. Concerning the club activities of a child, there are no significant differences in the attitude to and the educational results achieved through club activities according to the socio-economic background of a child, but that there are significant differences in the frequency of participation in club activities and especially in the parents' interest in the club activities of a child according to the family's socio-economic background. Based upon these facts, schools should, if they want to solve the differences in parents' educational interest which differs according to socio-economic backgound, collect diverse information on club activities for the parents and should strive to find a method by which they can systematically offer this information to the parents.;이 연구는 가정의 사회경제적 배경과 초등학교 아동의 클럽활동 간에 어떤 관련이 있는지를 알고자 하였다. 이 연구는 아동의 클럽활동에 영향을 미치는 변인으로 아버지의 교육수준, 어머니의 교육수준, 아버지의 직업, 어머니의 직업, 월수입, 주거환경, 거주지 형태, 아동이 인지한 집안형편, 가족형태, 학교 소재지 등을 고려하였다. 이러한 배경변인들 중 아동의 클럽활동에 차이를 가져오는 배경변인은 무엇이며, 각 배경변인과 아동의 클럽활동간이 상관관계를 밝히려 하였다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 설정된 연구문제는 네 가지로 구체화하였다. 첫째, 아동의 클럽활동에 대한 태도는 가정의 사회경제적 배경변인에 따라 차이가 있는가? 둘째, 아동의 클럽활동 빈도는 가정의 사회경제적 배경변인에 따라 차이가 있는가? 셋째, 아동의 클럽활동의 교육적 효과는 가정의 사회경제적 배경변인에 따라 차이가 있는가? 네째, 아동의 클럽활동에 대한 부모 관심도는 가정의 사회경제적 배경변인에 따라 차이가 있는가? 연구문제를 풀기 위해, 가정의 사회경제적 배경변인 가운데 도시화 정도 역시 중요한 영향을 미친다는 선행연구를 근거로 하여 연구대상을 대도시, 중소 도시, 군단위 이하로 구분하여 서울, 전주시, 경남 함안군에서 각 4개씩의 초등학교를 표집하여 593명을 조사하였다. 연구문제의 구체적 분석을 위하여 T-test, x^(2), 일원분산분석(One way ANOVA), 상관관계(crrelation) 등으로 자료처리 하였다. 분석한 결과를 다음과 같이 네 가지로 정리하였다. 첫째, 가정의 월수입에 따라 아동의 클럽활동에 대한 태도에 유의한 차이가 있었으나, 아버지의 교육수준, 어머니의 교육수준, 아버지의 직업, 어머니의 직업, 주거환경, 거주지 형태, 아동이 인지한 집안형편, 가족형태, 학교 소재지 등에 따라 아동의 클럽활동에 대한 태도에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 그리고 가정의 월수입과 아동의 클럽활동에 대한 태도 간에 정적인 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 상관의 정도는 낮았다. 아버지의 교육수준, 어머니의 교육수준, 아버지의 직업, 어머니의 직업, 주거환경, 거주지 형태, 아동이 인지한 집안형편 등과 아동의 클럽활동에 대한 태도 간에 상관이 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 아버지의 교육수준, 어머니의 교육수준, 주거환경, 아동이 인지한 집안 형편, 주거형태, 가족형태, 학교 소재지 등에 따라 아동의 클럽활동 빈도에 유의한 차이가 있었으며, 아버지의 직업, 어머니의 직업, 가정의 월수입 등에 따라 아동의 클럽활동 빈도에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 그리고 아버지 교육수준에 따라 아동의 클럽활동 빈도 간에 부적인 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 상관의 정도는 낮았다. 셋째, 가정의 월수입에 따라 아동의 클럽활동을 통한 교육적 효과에 유의한 차이가 있었으나, 아버지의 교육수준, 어머니의 교육수준, 아버지의 직업, 어머니의 직업, 주거환경, 거주지 형태, 아동이 인지한 집안형편, 가족형태, 학교 소재지 등에 따라 아동의 클럽활동을 통한 교육적 효과에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 그리고 가정의 월수입과 아동의 클럽활동을 통한 교육적 효과 간에 정적인 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 상관의 정도는 낮았다. 넷째, 아버지의 교육수준, 어머니의 교육수준, 아버지의 직업, 가정의 월수입, 주거환경, 아동이 인지한 집안형편, 주거형태, 가족형태, 학교 소재지 등에 따라 아동의 클럽활동에 대한 부모 관심도에 유의한 차이가 있었으며, 어머니의 직업에 따라 아동의 클럽활동에 대한 부모 관심도에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 그리고 아버지의 교육수준, 어머니의 교육수준, 아버지의 직업, 가정의 월수입, 주거환경, 아동이 인지한 집안형편 등과 아동의 클럽활동에 대한 부모 관심도에 정적인 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 어머니의 직업에 따라 아동의 클럽활동에 대한 부모 관심도 간에 상관이 나타나지 않았다. 초등학교 아동의 클럽활동은 전반적으로 가정의 사회경제적 배경에 따라 아동의 클럽활동 태도, 클럽활동을 통한 교육적 효과에는 유의한 차이가 없었으나, 가정의 사회경제적 배경에 따라 아동의 클럽활동 빈도 특히, 아동의 클럽활동에 대한 부모 관심도에 의미있는 차이가 있었다. 이러한 사실에 근거하여 가정의 사회경제적 배경에 따른 부모의 교육적 관심 격차를 해소하려면 학교는 부모들을 위해 다양한 클럽활동 정보를 수집하고 그 정보를 체계적으로 제공할 수 있는 방안을 모색해야 한다.
