dc.description.abstractIn June 2020, countless tweets by Filipino women surfaced using the hashtag #HijaAko. The term hija, which translates to “young woman,” was utilized by these women to form a digital collective and to challenge the perpetuation of women’s silence and passive participation in relation to responding to such issues. Through the hashtag movement, select Filipino women detailed their experiences of sexual violence in public spaces, particularly as students in educational institutions. While reminiscent of the global #MeToo movement, the #HijaAko digital movement also initiated discourse about the nuanced intersections between personal justice interests as they “seek justice” through both institutional formal (quasi-judicial reporting, investigative, and disciplinary procedures) and through alternative digital feminist counter spaces such as the #HijaAko movement on X (formerly Twitter). The study argues that various justice interests of the sexual violence victim-survivors at the time of their participation in the hashtag movement are shaped by various epistemic and procedural injustices they have experienced, and the opportunities they had for active participation in relation to seeking justice within their respective school systems. These personal justice interests are projected onto the #HijaAko movement’s objectives and subsumed to inform the movement participants’ activities and interactions. Rather than passive recipients of the kinds of justice they seek, the collective, active efforts to project their personal justice interests formulate the movement’s affordances in relation to articulating and seeking ways to achieve more victim-centered notions of justice. ;2020년 6월, 수없이 많은 #HijaAko(히자아코)라는 해시태그가 필리핀 여성들에 의해 트윗 되었다. 특정 이슈에 대해 디지털 공동체를 형성하고, 여성들의 침묵과 수동적 참여의 영속화에 도전하기 위해필리핀어로 젊은 여성을 의미하는 hija(히자)라는 단어가 사용 되었다. 해시태그 운동을 통해 공적 공간인 교육기관에서 학생으로서 성폭력을 당한 필리핀 여성들의 경험이 알려졌다. 세계적인 #MeToo(미투) 운동을 연상시키듯 #HijaAko (히자아코) 디지털 운동 역시 그들이 정의를 추구할 때(준사법적 고발, 조사, 징계 절차 등의) 제도적 형식을 통한 정의 추구와 X(이전의 Twitter)에서 펼쳐진 #HijaAko(히자아코) 운동과 같은 대안적인 디지털 페미니스트 공간에서의 개인적 정의 실현에 존재하는 미묘한 차이에 대한 담론을 불러 일으켰다. 본 연구는 해시캐그 운동에 참여한 성폭력 피해자-생존자들의 다양한 정의 실현은 그들이 각각의 학교 시스템에서 경험한 성폭력에 대한 인지와 대응 절차의 부당함과 그에 대항하기 위한 능동적 참여를 통해 형성되었다고 주장한다. 이러한 개인적 정의 실현은 운동의 목표에 투영되었고 #HijaAko(히자아코) 운동 참여자들의 활동과 상호작용에 활기를 불어넣었다. 피해자 중심의 정의 개념을 성취하는 표현과 추구 방법에 관련하여 #HijaAko(히자아코) 운동의 어포던스(affordances)를 명확하게 나타내는 것은 그들이 추구하는 정의에 대한 수동적 도움보다는 그들의 개인적 정의 실현을 투영하기 위한 집단적이고 능동적인 노력들이다.-
