Abstract
We report a facile synthesis of single-phase perovskite CaRuO3 nanofibers via electrospinning process followed by the thermal annealing for the sensitive detection of L-ascorbic acid (AA) for the first time. The structure of the obtained CaRuO3 nanofibers represents single-phase orthorhombic crystalline phase with the rough surface texture and the average diameter of 139 nm. The electrocatalytic activities of CaRuO3 nanofibers for AA oxidation were measured via linear sweep voltammetry and amperometric response in 0.05 M PBS containing 1 mM AA, resulting in high sensitivity of 290.4 μA mM−1 cm−2. CaRuO3 nanofibers could be thus utilized for analyzing AA selectively in various complex biological and/or physiological systems. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.
