고등학교 교사의 학교 성교육에 대한 인식, 지식과 태도 및 학교 성교육 표준안의 중요도와 수행도

Abstract

본 연구는 고등학교 교사를 대상으로 학교 성교육에 대한 인식, 지식과 태도에 대해 조사하고 학교 성교육 표준안 내용 요소의 중요도와 수행도를 IPA 모델을 이용하여 확인한 서술적 조사 연구이다. 자료수집은 2023년 5월 4일부터 2023년도 5월 12일까지 서울특별시, 경기도, 인천광역시에서 근무하는 연구 참여에 동의하여 설문에 응한 교사를 대상으로 224명을 편의표집 및 눈덩이 표집을 통해 수행되었다. 연구 결과 고등학교 교사의 학교 성교육에 대한 인식과 학교 성교육 표준안 내용 요소에 대한 중요도는 전반적으로 높았으나 학교 성교육에 대한 지식과 태도, 학교 성교육 표준안 내용 요소에 대한 수행도는 인식과 중요도에 비해 전반적으로 낮았다. 학교 성교육에 대한 인식은 교사의 성별에 따라 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었고 학교 성교육에 대한 지식과 태도는 대상자의 일반적 특성 중 교사 직급, 담당 과목, 성교육 업무 담당, 학교 종류에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었으며 고등학교 교사의 일반적 특성에 따른 학교 성교육 표준안 내용 요소의 중요도와 수행도는 근무 지역과 담당 과목, 성교육 업무 담당, 학생 구성에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 학교 성교육에 대한 고등학교 교사의 인식, 지식과 태도, 학교 성교육 표준안 내용 요소의 중요도와 수행도는 상관관계가 있었고 학교 성교육 표준안 내용 요소의 중요도와 수행도는 모두 유의한 차이가 있었으며 제 1사분면에 29개 중 17개 요소, 제 3사분면에 8개 요소, 제 4분면에 4개 요소가 분포되어 있었다. 이상의 연구 결과는 고등학생들에게 성적 모범이 되어 학생들에게 영향을 주는 현직 교사들의 학교 성교육에 대한 인식, 지식과 태도, 그리고 국가 수준 학교 성교육 표준안에 대한 중요도와 수행도를 확인하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 따라서 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 사회적으로 합의된 올바르고 효과적인 성교육이 학교를 통해 학생들에게 효율적으로 전달되도록 교사의 인식, 지식과 태도를 향상하여 학교 성교육 표준안의 중요도와 수행도를 높여야 하겠다. 그러므로 고등학교 교사의 개인적 특성에 맞는 교수학습자료의 개발 및 적용과 함께 교육부 및 지역 교육청 성 관련 정책 담당자가 교사 대상 성교육 프로그램의 향상을 위해 재정적인 지원과 제도적인 지원을 통해 교사의 성교육 능력을 증진하는 것이 필요할 것이다.;This descriptive study investigated high school teachers’ awareness, knowledge, and attitudes toward sexuality education and identified the importance and performance of the content elements of the proposed education standard using the IPA model. Data collection was conducted from May 4-12, 2023, through convenience sampling and snowball sampling of 224 teachers working in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and Incheon Metropolitan City. The study found that high school teachers' awareness of school sexuality education and the importance of the content elements of the school sexuality education standard were generally high, but their knowledge and attitudes toward school sexuality education and their performance on the content elements of the school sexuality education standard were generally low. Awareness of school sexuality education showed statistically significant differences by teacher gender. Knowledge and attitudes toward school sexuality education differed significantly by teacher rank, subject area, sexuality education responsibilities, and school type. The importance and performance of the content elements of the school sexuality education standard differed significantly by work location, subject area, sexuality education responsibilities, and student composition. High school teachers' perceptions, knowledge, and attitudes toward school sexuality education and the importance and performance of the content elements of the school sexuality education standards were correlated. The importance and performance of the content elements of the school sexuality education standards were significantly different, with 17 of the 29 elements in the first quadrant, 8 in the third quadrant, and 4 in the fourth quadrant. Based on the findings of this study, in order to ensure that socially consensual, correct and effective sex education is efficiently delivered to students, through the schools, it is necessary to develop and apply teaching and learning materials based on the personal characteristics and needs of high school teachers and for the Ministry of Education and local education office sex education policy makers to provide financial and institutional support to improve sex education programs.
