국악관현악단 활동이 중학생의 협동심과 음악적 자기효능감 증진에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구는 국악관현악단 활동이 중학생의 협동심과 음악적 자기효능감 증진에 미치는 영향을 조사하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 연구자는 의도적 표집 방법에 따라 현재 국악관현악단 활동을 활발하게 진행하고 있는 김포, 구로 그리고 평택시에 위치한 3개의 중학교를 선정한 후 국악관현악단 활동을 처음 접해본 학생 54명을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였으며, 사전과 사후변화를 살펴보는 양적 연구와 구체적인 원인과 인식을 학생의 관점에서 분석하기 위하여 포커스 심층 면담을 함께 진행하는 혼합연구 방법을 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 연구 문제에 따라 빈도 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국악관현악단 활동에 참여한 학생의 협동심 영역이 전반적으로 향상되었다. 국악관현악단 활동에 참여한 학생들은 세 가지 하위요소에서 모두 향상된 것으로 나타났는데 그중 평균치가 가장 크게 변화한 것은 '팔로워십'이다. 청소년 시기에 동료 학생들이 스스로 문제를 해결할 수 있도록 도움을 주었을 때 성취감과 만족감을 느끼는 것이 큰 영향을 준 것을 볼 수 있다. 이러한 행동을 통해서 학생들은 국악관현악단 내에서 자신이 가치 있는 존재가 되고자 하는 것을 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 국악관현악단 활동에 참여한 학생의 음악적 자기효능감은 전반적으로 향상되었다. 국악관현악단 활동에 참여한 학생들은 세 가지 하위요소에서 모두 크게 향상된 것으로 나타났는데 그중 평균치가 가장 크게 변화한 것은 '과제수준선호'이다. 이는 학생들이 국악관현악단 활동 및 연주에 대한 흥미, 성취했을 때의 자신감과 자존감이 증가할수록 이전보다 높은 수준의 곡을 선택하여 연주하려고 하며 연주를 성공적으로 해냈을 때의 성공 경험이 바탕이 되어 이전보다 더욱 성장하기 위해 노력하는 것을 볼 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구자는 국악관현악 교육과 인성교육 연구의 연계성 증진과 학교현장에서의 실질적이고 다각적인 관찰을 통해 학생들에게 도움이 되는 수업 내용을 제작하고 지도안을 작성하여 다채로운 수업이 이루어져야 함을 제안하였다. 이에 따라 본 연구를 바탕으로 미래의 국악관현악단 활동을 경험할 중학생들이 국악관현악단 활동을 통하여 협동심과 음악적 자기효능감이 증진되어 국악 교육에 더욱 긍정적인 결과를 도출하여 국악 교육을 개발해 나가는 데에 도움이 될 수 있기를 기대한다. ;The purpose of this study is to analyze how activities of traditional Korean music orchestra affect middle school students’cooperative behaviors and self-satisfaction. To this end, the researcher selects three middle schools of active participation in traditional Korean orchestra activities in Gimpo, Guro, and Pyeongtaek and conducts a research on 54 students of first-time encounter to such activities, with frequency analysis on the collected data based on the research problem. The conclusions from the study are as follows: First, the cooperation area overall improved among the students who participated in the activities. There was improvement in all three sub-factors, among which “followership” saw the biggest change on average. The result indicates that helping other students, and thereby becoming a valuable member of the orchestra, played a huge role for the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction for the teenagers. Second, the self-satisfaction area overall improved among the students who participated in the activities. For them, there was huge improvement in all four sub-factors, among which ‘Task Difficulty Preference’ were of the biggest improvements on average. The result shows that students choose and play music of higher difficulty as their interest and confidence grow and that they try to grow based on their experiences of successful performance. Therefore, the researcher suggests that various classes be offered with class contents that are helpful for students through improved connectivity between researches on character education and traditional Korean music orchestra education, which is comparably less available than Western orchestra activities, as well as through practical and multifaceted field observations. Based on the study, the researcher hopes that future middle school students who experience traditional Korean music orchestra activities produce even more positive results for the Korean music education, with improved cooperative behaviors and musical self-satisfaction, and thereby contribute to its development.
