프로그램 해독과정에 나타난 중국 사회의 젠더의식

Abstract

This study noted that female trainees with masculine external images appeared on the most popular web entertainment program " Youth With You Season 2" in China in the first half of 2020 and that audiences were enthusiastic about gender topics such as diversification of female images online. In order to examine the gender consciousness revealed by the inmates in the process of decoding the program, the researcher applied a qualitative research method to conduct online participation observation and in-depth interviews. In the process of encoding, the program production team identified the trend of gender consciousness changing in Chinese society and the public's interest in gender topics, and used it in production to set the theme of the program as "diversifying female images". Liu Yu-sin, who has a masculine external image in the program, became the center of the discussion through the production team's intentional emphasis. The program finally increased the popularity of the program by using promotional means and media customs to create issues in the reproduction of neutral wind trainees such as Liu Yu-sin. Even if the audience is aware of the intentional mechanism of the production team in the process of decoding the program, they participate in the discussion on the program because they are interest in this topic. Therefore, through online participation observation and in-depth interviews with audience, the audience are revealing aspects such as compliant decoding, resistive decoding, and negotiated decoding in the decoding process. Depending on the detoxification process of audience, there are many audience with gender-fixed images and unconscious gender discrimination concepts, but some audience are pursuing various female images away from traditional female images. Therefore, the current gender consciousness in Chinese society is characterized by a new trend in support of women's diversification and traditional gender concepts still occupy the mainstream values of society.;본 연구는 중국에서 2020년 상반기 가장 많은 인기를 받았던 웹 예능 프로그램 <청춘유니2>에서 남성적 외적 이미지를 가진 여자 연습생들이 등장하고 온라인에서 여성 이미지 다양화 등 젠더 주제에 관련해서 수용자들이 열정적으로 토론을 진행한 것에 주목하였다. 수용자들이 프로그램에 대한 해독 과정에서 드러낸 젠더 의식을 고찰하기 위해 연구자는 질적 연구 방법을 적용해서 온라인 참여 관찰과 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 프로그램 제작진은 인코딩 과정에서 중국사회에서 젠더 의식이 변화하고 대중들이 젠더 주제에 대해 관심을 많이 가지고 있는 흐름을 파악하고 이를 제작에 활용해서 프로그램의 주제를 “여성 이미지 다양화”로 정했다. 프로그램에서 남성적 외적 이미지를 가진 류위신은 제작진의 의도적인 강조 서사를 통해 토론의 중심이 되었다. 프로그램은 류위신과 같은 중성풍 연습생에 대한 재현에서 이슈를 만들기 위해 프로모션 수단과 미디어 관습을 사용하여 최종적으로 프로그램의 인기를 인상시켰다. 수용자들이 프로그램을 디코딩(해독)하는 과정에서 제작진의 의도적인 기제를 인지하고 있어도 자신이 관심을 가지고 있는 주제이기 때문에 프로그램에 관한 토론에 참여한다. 따라서 수용자에 대한 온라인 참여 관찰과 심층 인터뷰를 통해 수용자들은 디코딩(해독) 과정에서 순응적인 해독, 저항적 해독, 교섭적 해독 등 양상을 드러내고 있다. 수용자들의 해독 과정에 따라 젠더 고정 이미지와 무의식적인 성차별 관념을 가지고 있는 수용자들이 많이 존재하지만 일부분 수용자는 전통적인 여성 이미지에 벗어나고 다양한 여성 이미지를 추구하고 있다는 젠더 의식의 양상을 드러내고 있다. 따라서 현재 중국 사회의 젠더 의식은 전통적인 젠더 관념이 아직 사회의 주류 가치관을 차지하고 있으면 여성상 다양화를 지지하는 새로운 흐름이 나타나고 있는 특징을 가지고 있다.
