어휘설명 유형에 따른 함께 책 읽기 활동이 아동의 어휘 습득에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 함께 책 읽기 활동에서 새로운 어휘를 학습할 때 어휘설명 유형을 다르게 함에 따라 아동의 어휘 학습에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하는 것이다. 어휘설명 유형은 세가지로 구분 하였는데, 언급하기, 반복하기, 상세히 설명하기 이다. 본 연구에는 만4~5세 일반아동 15명과 어휘발달지연 아동 15명이 참여하였다. 아동에게 ‘곰돌이의 마술연필’ 그림책을 읽어주면서, 책 속에 등장 하는 새로운 어휘인 ‘뿌미’, ‘바뚜’ 등과 같은 8개 어휘를 언급하기, 반복하기, 상세히 설명하기의 유형으로 구분하여 설명한다. 책 읽기 후 이 어휘에 대하여 수용 및 표현어휘 평가를 진행한다. 일반아동, 어휘발달지연 아동 집단 간 어휘설명 유형 (언급하기, 반복하기, 상세히 설명하기)에 따른 수용 및 표현어휘 점수에 유의한 차이가 있는지, 또한 평가시점 (책 읽은 직후, 10분 후)에 따른 수용 및 표현어휘 점수에 유의한 차이가 있는지 알아보았다. 그 결과 수용어휘 평가에서 세 가지 설명 유형 모두 일반 아동의 점수가 어휘발달 지연 아동보다 높았다. 집단 내 설명 유형별로 차이를 보면, 상세히 설명하기의 어휘 평가 점수가 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다. 표현어휘 평가에서 세 가지 어휘설명 유형 모두 일반아동의 점수가 어휘발달지연 아동의 점수보다 높았으나, 특히 언급하기 유형에서 일반아동과 어휘발달지연 아동의 차이가 통계적으로 유의했다. 어휘발달지연 집단에서 언급만 하는 것이 표현어휘에 대한 효과가 매우 적었다고 할 수 있다.;This study aims to find out the differences in receptive vocabulary and expressive vocabulary learning skills due to the different methods used to vocabulary explanation type when children learn new vocabulary while reading. A total of 30 children from age 4 to 5 participated in this study and they were divided into a typically developing and delay in vocabulary development group, and randomly assigned to a vocabulary explanation type: mentioned once, simple repetition, elaborated repetition. The result can be summarized as follows. First, in the receptive vocabulary test of novel vocabulary, typically developing children (TD) show higher vocabulary-learning than children with delay in vocabulary development (VD), and elaborated with a definition method showed a better result. Second, in the expressive vocabulary test, TD show higher vocabulary-learning than VD, and groups learned words through elaborated with a definition method showed higher vocabulary-learning.
