피아노 교사의 전문성 함양을 위한 국내외 피아노 교사 재교육 현황 조사

Abstract

본 연구는 현재 운영 중인 국내외 피아노 교사교육 프로그램을 학습 기간에 따라 단기·중장기·장기로 분류하여 조사하고, 그 결과를 비교하여 국내 교사 재교육 과정에서 보강되어야 할 측면을 제시하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 최근 출산율 저하로 인한 학령인구 감소와 입시 교육 중심의 교육현장 분위기로 인해 예능교육의 수요는 점차 줄어들고 있는 실정이다. 그러나 음악대학에서는 매년 피아노전공 졸업생들이 사회로 배출되고 있으며, 신생 음악학원과 교습소도 지속적인 양적 팽창을 이루어 피아노 교사들 간의 경쟁은 날로 심해지고 있다. 즉 학령인구는 감소하였으나 교육에 대한 학부모의 기대치는 높아지고, 학습자의 연령층과 목적이 다양해짐에 따라 새로운 형태의 교육환경과 교수법이 요구되고 있다. 이러한 변화 추세로 많은 피아노 교사들은 전문성을 향상하여 양질의 수업을 제공하기 위해 노력하고 있으며 이는 교사 재교육에 대한 높은 관심으로 이어지고 있다. 단기 교사교육 프로그램으로는 출판사 세미나와 온라인 세미나, 전문 단체의 학술대회 구두발표가 제공되고 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 국내의 단기 세미나는 학부모 상담법, 교육기관 홍보법과 더불어 학습자의 흥미를 유발하는 게임이나 교구 활용 특강 프로그램에 대한 실용적인 내용이 주를 이루었다. 반면 국외 세미나는 학문적 내용과 실무적 내용이 적절하게 균형을 이루며 특수교육, 성인교육, 그룹교육 등 피아노교육 대상의 범위를 다양하게 확장하여 활발한 연구가 이루어지고 있는 것으로 관찰되었다. 중장기 피아노 교사교육 프로그램으로는 교사 자격증 취득과정과 4주 이상 소요되는 교사교육 과정이 제공되고 있었다. 국내에서는 주로 특정 출판사의 교재 또는 교수법 전문강사 자격증 과정이 확인되었으며, 주 교육 대상이 초급과정 학습자에 한정되어 있고 자격시험에서 실기시험을 요구하지 않았다. 반면 국외는 초급·중급·고급 등 학습 대상의 수준을 세부적으로 나누어 교육과정을 제공하고, 피아노 실기시험을 통해 교사의 수준 높은 연주력까지도 요구하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 장기 피아노 교사교육 프로그램으로는 피아노 교수학 석사과정에 대해 조사하였다. 국내외 모두 전공실기, 교수실습 등 피아노 교수학 전공에 있어서 필수적인 교과목을 포함하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러나 미국에서는 미국음악학교협회(NASM), 미국 피아노페다고지 협회(NCKP) 등 공신력 있는 전문 기관에서 제시한 가이드 라인(guide line)에 따라 체계적인 교과과정 운영을 하고 있다는 차이점을 발견하였다. 국내의 전문단체가 석사과정 가이드 라인을 제시한다면 전문성과 자질을 갖춘 피아노 실기 교사들을 양성하는 데 큰 도움이 될 것이라 판단된다. 본 연구를 통해 전문성 신장을 희망하는 교사들이 본인에게 필요한 교육과정을 발견하고 참고하는 데 도움이 되기를 바란다. 또한 현재 국내 피아노 교사 재교육 과정의 문제점이 보완되기 위한 전문가들의 보다 많은 연구가 활발히 이루어지기를 기대한다.;The purpose of this study is to investigate the current domestic and foreign piano teacher education programs by classifying them into short, medium and long-term according to the learning period, and comparing the results to present aspects that should be reinforced in the domestic teacher re-education process. The demand for arts education is gradually decreasing due to the decrease in the number of school-age population due to the recent decline in the birth rate and the atmosphere of education centered on entrance examination education. But every year, piano major graduates are produced into society at music colleges, and new music academies and teaching centers are also steadily expanding in quantity, increasing competition among piano teachers. In other words, although the number of school-age population has decreased, parents' expectations for education have increased, and new types of educational environment and teaching methods are required as learners' age groups and goals vary. With this change, many piano teachers are striving to improve their expertise and provide quality education, and it leading to high interest in teacher retraining. Short-term teacher education programs have been provided with seminars for publishers, online seminars and presentations for academic conferences by professional organizations. In addition to the Parent Consultation Method and the Education and Public Relations Method, short-term seminars in Korea mainly focused on practical content of games that interest learners and special lecture programs using teaching tools. On the other hand, it has been observed that overseas seminars balance academic and practical content, and that active research is being conducted in a variety of ways, including special education, adult education, and group education. The mid- to long-term piano teacher education program provides a teacher qualification program and a teacher education program that takes more than four weeks. In Korea, certificates of professional instructors of teaching materials or teaching methods of certain publishers were mainly identified, and the main subjects of education were limited to beginner course learners and did not require practical tests in qualification tests. On the other hand, it was confirmed that foreign countries were providing education courses by dividing the level of subjects to be studied in detail, such as beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, and even requiring a high level of performance by teachers through piano practical tests. As a long-term piano teacher education program, the master's course in piano teaching was investigated. It was confirmed that both at home and abroad included essential subjects in piano teaching, such as practical major and teaching practice. However, in the U.S. was running a systematic curriculum in accordance with the guide line proposed by public and professional organizations such as the National Association Schools of Music (NASM) and the National Conference of Keyboard Pedagogy (NCKP). If domestic professional organizations present guidelines for master's courses, it will be of great help to train professional and qualified piano teachers. Hopefully, Through this research, teachers who want to expand their expertise should find the curriculum they need and use it as a reference. Also hope that more research by experts will be conducted to supplement the problems of the re-education program of piano teachers in Korea.
