단편 소설을 활용한 한국어 교육 방안 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 내용 중심 교수법의 한 유형인 SIOP(Sheltered Instruction Observ ation Protocol)모형을 기반으로 하여, 한국어 학습자를 대상으로 단편 소설을 활용한 한국어 교육 방안을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 최근 한국어 학습자의 요구가 다양화 되면서, 한국어 교육 현장에서의 교수 학습 자료와 교육 방법에 대한 변화의 시도가 절실하다는 논의에서 출발한 것이다. 이러한 것을 감안할 때 의사소통의 중심이 상황 맥락과 사회·문화적 맥락이라고 하는 점은 매우 중요하다. 따라서 문학 작품을 활용한 한국어 교육은 학습자 유형에 관계없이 유용한 교육 자료라고 생각된다. 나아가 문학 작품을 활용한 교육이 효율적으로 이루어지기 위해서는, 문학 작품의 장르에 적합한 교육 방안이 모색되어야 한다. 이에 언어와 내용의 통합교육의 형태인 SIOP 모형을 읽기 단계에 접목하여 한국어 교수 방안의 구성을 마련하고자 하였다. 1장에서는 연구의 필요성과 목적을 밝히고 선행 연구를 살펴보았다. 선행 연구 검토 결과 한국어 교육에서 SIOP 모형을 활용한 문학 작품 교육 방안 연구는 아직 많지 않은 편이었고, 최근 SIOP 모형 연구가 어휘 교육, 다문화 이해 교육, 현대 소설 활용 교육 등으로 확대되어 가고 있는 과정에 있음을 확인하였다. 2장에서는 기존에 이루어진 여러 논의를 바탕으로 문학 작품을 활용한 한국어 교육의 효용성을 알아보았고, 특히 문학 작품 중 단편 소설이 왜 효과적인 자료가 될 수 있는지를 검토하였다. 그리고 이 연구의 중요한 이론적 근거인 내용 중심 교수법과 SIOP 모형을 고찰하였다. 내용 중심 교수법에 기반을 두고 있는 SIOP 모형은 유의미한 텍스트를 활용하여 네 가지 언어 기술이 효과적으로 습득되도록 여러 요소들이 유기적으로 구성되어있기 때문에, 문학 작품의 교수 방안에 적합하다는 판단을 하였다. 3장에서는 SIOP 모형이 문학 작품에 더 효과적인 방안이 될 수 있도록 읽기 전략과의 연계를 시도하여 SIOP 모형 기반 문학 작품 활용 한국어 교수-학습 모형을 마련하였다. 그리고 구성된 학습 방안에 적합한 문학 작품의 선정 기준을 고찰하여 본 연구의 교수-학습 모형에 대표적으로 적용할 문학 작품을 단편 소설「수난이대」로 선정하였다. 4장에서는 3장에서 제시한 SIOP 모형에 따른 문학 작품 활용 교수-학습 모형을 바탕으로 단편 소설에 적합한 교수-학습 구성안을 마련하고 다시 그 구성안에 기반으로 하여, 대표적으로 선정된 단편 소설의 차시별 수업 지도안을 마련하기 위한「수난이대」의 수업 자료 구성 방안을 제시하였다. 「수난이대」를 적용한 차시별 수업 지도안에서는 수업 중 교사의 준비사항, 학습 자료, 수업 중 중점을 두어야 할 부분과 유의 사항 등을 구체적으로 마련하였다. 이상의 연구는 읽기 단계에 따라 문학 작품을 활용하여 수업이 진행되면서 SIOP 모형의 요소와 특징들이 전체 수업에서 흐름을 이끌 수 있도록 구성하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 그러나 실제적으로 수업의 진행을 통해서 문제점을 확인하지 못하고 교수 방안과 지도안의 효용성에 대한 정확한 결과를 도출하지 못한 점은 이 연구의 한계이다. 또한 구성된 수업 지도안이 「수난이대」에만 활용되었기 때문에 교수-학습 구성안의 보편적 적용 가능성을 도출하지 못했다. 앞으로의 연구에서는 작품 선정 기준에 규합하는 다양한 단편 소설의 수업 지도안을 마련해서 실제 수업에 적용하여 분석이 된다면 SIOP 모형을 활용한 한국어 문학 교육이 더욱 효율적인 교수 방안으로 활용되리라고 기대한다. ;The purpose of this study is to propose the educational method for Korean through utilizing a short story, based on SIOP(Shelterd Instruction Observation Protocol) model, a type of CBI(Content-Based Instruction). The learning materials and instructional methods need to be evolved as the type of Korean learners has been diversified. Also, the idea of that social, cultural, and situational contexts construct the important part of communication must be concerned. In this aspect, the Korean language education with literature is the effective teaching material regardless of types of learners. Moreover, to promote its educational effectiveness, it is important to discover the appropriate education methods depending on the genre of each literature. Following these reasons, the study presents the new teaching scheme with applying the model of inclusive education formed SIOP model to reading. Chapter I discusses the necessity and purpose of the study and looks the precedent studies. According to the precedent studies, only a few of the studies on literature education methods based on SIOP model exist on the Korean language education field. Furthermore, it emphasizes the popularity of researching SIOP model among vocabulary education, multicultural understand ing education, the education of modern novel application, and etc. Based on former discussions, Chapter II checks the utility of the Korean language education with literature, and it examines how a short novel can be effective. Moreover, Chapter II contemplates SIOP model and CBI which are the important theoretical basis. Since the SIOP model based on CBI is organically constructed with the various training methods for learning four linguistic techniques, it is determined as the appropriate teaching scheme for literature education Chapter III attempted the connection between SIOP model and reading strategies to make SIOP model be more effective for literature. Also, that connection arranged the form of Korean teaching and learning with usage of literature based on SIOP model. Furthermore, 「Two Generation of suffering」, Ha Geunchan’s famous short novel is chosen as a representative literature of the teaching and learning model of the study. Chapter IV builds the plan of teaching and learning for short novels based on the form of Korean teaching and learning from Chapter III. The plan is the basis of the detailed teaching plan for Korean language through utilizing 「Two Generation of suffering」. This detailed teaching plan shows preparations, teaching materials, cautions, and importances in the class. This study is significant in that the elements and characteristics of SIOP model are organically constructed through the whole reading stages. However, the critical point of this study is that the teaching plan could not be applied in the real class , not to achieve its effectiveness and generality. The result of this study will be able to support that the further studies can create the various teaching plan with using literature to apply it to the class.
