Abstract
To develop Korean EFL learners, communicative competence through meaningful interaction in discourse based grammar. In Korean English Education, the way of learning and assessing English Grammar tends to focus on sentence level, context free, language practice. The textbooks lack meaningful use of the language. Thus can cause young EFL learners to lose interest in learning English. Functional or discourse-based grammar conveying specific pragmatic and discourse forming functions help EFL learners build their communicative competence (Celce-Murcia & Olshtain, 2000; Halliday & Hasan, 1976, 1989). Therefore, this textbook is focused on communicative grammar starting from the given situation and gradually expanding to meaningful communication.
