오케스트라 활동이 중학생의 음악흥미도 및 음악의 생활화에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 오케스트라 활동이 중학생의 음악흥미도와 음악의 생활화에 미치는 영향을 살펴보는데 있다. 이를 위하여 오케스트라 활동에 경험이 없는 31명의 학생들을 대상으로 사전·사후 검사를 실시하였다. 연구자는 연구 기간 동안 학생들의 수업을 참여관찰 하였고 연구 참여자중 5명의 학생을 대상으로 포커스 그룹 면담을 실시하여 활동에 참여한 학생들의 음악흥미도와 음악의 생활화의 변화를 측정하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 오케스트라 활동에 참여한 학생들의 음악흥미도는 사전·사후 검사에서 전반적으로 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 특히 음악활동에 따른 음악흥미도 하위요인 중 기악활동에 대한 흥미도가 높게 향상 되었으며, 음악가에 대한 흥미도, 음악 관련직업에 대한 흥미도 역시 활동 이후 높아진 것으로 측정되었다. 또한 참여자들의 오케스트라 활동 경험은 개인의 음악에 대한 내재적인 정서반응 향상에도 영향을 미친것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 오케스트라 활동에 참여한 학생들의 음악의 생활화는 사전·사후 검사에서 전반적으로 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 음악의 생활화 검사에서는 음악과 행사와 음악의 기능의 하위영역이 특히 높아진 것으로 측정되었다. 반면 음악의 생활화 하위영역 중 음악의 가치영역에 대한 결과는 크게 변화하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 오케스트라 활동에 참여한 학생들의 음악흥미도와 음악의 생활화의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 상호 높은 상관관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 음악의 생활화의 하위요인 중 음악과 행사는 음악흥미도의 하위요인인 음악가와 음악 직업 대한 흥미도와 높은 상관관계를 보였으며, 음악관련 산업과 음악에 대한 내재적인 정서 반응 간의 상관관계 역시 높게 측정 되었다. 이러한 결과는 오케스트라 활동을 통해 음악흥미도가 높게 형성된 학생일수록 음악의 생활화 역시 높아 질 수 있다는 것을 의미한다. 본 연구는 오케스트라 활동이 중학생의 음악흥미도와 음악의 생활화에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하였다. 학생 오케스트라 활동을 통한 음악의 생활화 연구와 더불어 국내에서 연구되지 않았던 음악흥미도와 음악의 생활화의 상관관계를 살펴봄으로써, 오케스트라 활동이 음악흥미도와 음악의 생활화에 미치는 효과를 검증하였다는 점과 오케스트라 활동에 대한 시사점을 제공하는 것에 의의를 갖는다.;The purpose of this study is to investigate how middle school students' participation in orchestra activities effect there musical interest and music in daily lives. Thus, preliminary/post examinations were conducted on 31 students without prior experience in orchestra activities. And the researchers observed the students' participation in the class. Among them, 5 students were in a focus group interview to measure the changes in their interest in music and musical activities in daily life. The results of this study are as follows. First, the level of interest in music shown by the students who took part in orchestra activities increased overall in the preliminary/post examinations. In particular, their interest in instrumental activity and occupations related to music was high. Especially, interest in musical instrument activity in musical interest was increased, interest in musician and interest in music related occupation increased after the activity. In addition, participants' experience of orchestra activity influenced intrinsic emotional response to individual music. Second, for the extent of music being a part of the students' daily life, the study found the preliminary/post examinations that the extent increased for the students who took part in orchestra activities. In the examinations, the sub-areas of music, events and function of music especially increased. However, the result on the value of music among the sub-areas was not significant. Third, in the analysis on the correlation between the students' level of interest in music and their musical activities of daily life, the two had a high level of correlation. In particular, among the sub-factors of musical life, music and events showed a high correlation with the interest of musicians and musical occupations, which are subordinate factors of music interest, and the correlations between intrinsic emotional responses to music related industries and music were also high. This means that students who have developed a high level of interest in music through orchestra activities are more likely to make music a part of their everyday life. This study examined how middle school students' participation in orchestra activities effect there musical interest and music in daily lives. In addition to the analysis on promoting musical activities in daily life through orchestra activities, which had not been studied in Korea, the correlation between interest in music and musical activities of everyday life was also analyzed. Thus, this study is significant in that it examined the influence of orchestra activities on the level of interest in music and daily musical activities, and that it offered meaningful implications for orchestra activities.
