성 윤리 교육 분석 및 대안 연구

Abstract

현재 우리사회에서 다양한 젠더 갈등이 일어남에 따라 공교육 내에서의 성 윤리 교육에 대한 요구가 대두되고 있다. 이러한 요구에 따라 교육부는 2015년 학교 성교육 표준안을 제시하였지만, 성 고정관념을 강화하며, 성적 다양성 및 가족의 다양한 형태들을 인정하지 않고 있다는 등의 이유로 비판을 받고 있다. 본 논문은 여전히 공교육 내에서의 성교육은 제자리걸음을 면치 못하는 상황에서, 우리사회 내 여성혐오 문화와 그 반발로 젠더 간 갈등이 폭발한 가운데, 그 해결을 위해 도덕 교과 내에서 어떠한 성 윤리 교육을 시행해야하는가를 논의해보고자 하였다. 본 논문은 새로운 성 윤리 교육의 방안을 제시를 위한 이론적 배경을 레비나스의 타자철학으로 삼았다. 따라서 레비나스가 타자철학에서 가장 중요하게 다루는 개념인 ‘자아’와 ‘타자’가 어떠한 관계를 맺고 있으며, ‘타자’가 어떻게 나에게 현현하고 의미는 무엇인지에 대해 자세히 살펴봄으로써 타자철학에 대한 이해를 선행하고자 하였다. 또한 타자철학이 갖고 있는 도덕교육적 의의에 대한 연구를 위하여 ‘타자성’ 및 ‘감수성’을 각각 본 논문의 핵심 단어로 추출 후 각각을 책임과 정의적 도덕교육으로 연결하였다. 레비나스의 타자철학이 성 윤리 교육에 갖는 시사점은 ‘젠더 감수성’ 및 ‘인권 감수성’용어를 활용하여 확인하고자 한다. ‘젠더 감수성’의 개념은 레비나스가 추구하는 인격적 만남과 연관되어 우리 사회에 존재하는 젠더 고정관념을 넘어 남성과 여성이 성별의 구분이 아니라 인간 대 인간으로 마주하여 화합과 공존을 이룰 수 있음을 시사한다. ‘인권 감수성’은 인권과 연관되어 양성 평등의 중요성과 이를 이루기 위한 우리의 책임과 연관 지어 설명할 수 있다. 이렇게 논의된 타자철학과 성 윤리 교육의 연결점을 학교의 교육 현장에 적용하기 위해서는 우선, 현재 학교에서 진행되는 성교육에 대한 이해와 분석이 선행되어야만 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 현재까지 진행되어 온 학교 내 성교육의 흐름과 변화 과정을 살피고, 도덕 교과에서 성과 젠더의 문제를 어떻게 다루고 있는지를 분석하고자 한다. 도덕 교과 내 성 교육의 분석은 학교 교육의 기본이 되는 교과서의 내용 및 활동을 분석함을 통해 교과서가 과연 현재 한국 사회에서의 성과 젠더 문제를 해결할 수 있는가를 확인 후 그 문제점을 도출하고자 한다. 마지막으로 본 논문은 도출된 도덕 교과 내 성 윤리 교육의 문제점을 해결하기 위한 대안을 제시하기 위하여, 레비나스의 타자철학과 이상적인 성 윤리 교육의 접합점을 찾고 이를 어떻게 교육시킬 것인지 고민하고자 한다. 타자철학이 이야기하는 ‘타자’개념을 성 윤리 교육에 어떻게 적용할 수 있으며, 그 내용을 어떻게 교육하는 것이 효과적인가에 대해 고민하고, 그 교육 방안을 제시하고자한다. 본 논문을 통하여 레비나스의 타자철학이 개인의 도덕성을 정초시킬 뿐 아니라 나아가 도덕교육 및 성 윤리 교육의 발전에 큰 역할을 할 수 있으리라 기대된다. 타자철학이 주장하는 타인의 절대적 타자성에 대한 인정과 타자에 대한 주체의 윤리적 태도는, 성차별, 젠더 간 갈등 등의 다양한 문제를 봉합하고 혐오와 전쟁이 아닌 공존과 평화를 위한 올바른 성 윤리 문화의 확립의 기초가 될 수 있으리라 생각한다.;With the various aspects of gender conflicts in the Korean society, demands for sex ethics education in public education has emerged. Although the Ministry of Education has proposed a school sex education standard in 2015, it is criticized for strengthening gender stereotypes and not being aware of diversity of sexuality and family types. Considering that sex education in public education goes round in circles and gender conflicts are exploding due to the misogynic culture and the relevant resistance in the Korean society, the purpose of this study is to discuss the desirable direction of sex ethics education in the ethics subject . The theoretical background for presenting the direction of new ethics education in this study is Levinas' philosophy of the Other. Therefore, this study first examined in detail the relationship between 'self' and 'Other', the most important concept in Levinas' philosophy of the Other, and the concept of the Others manifesting in self and its implications. In addition, in relation to the significance of ethics education of philosophy of the Other, this study extracted 'otherness' and 'sensitivity' as key words of the analysis, respectively, and then linked each with responsibility and ethics education. The implications of Levinas' philosophy of the Other in sex ethics education were identified by the terms ‘gender sensitivity’ and ‘human rights sensitivity’. The concept of 'gender sensitivity' suggests that men and women are able to achieve harmony and coexistence not in a gendered way but in a humanitarian way beyond the gender stereotypes of our society in connection with the holistic personal encounter pursued by Levinas’s philosophy. 'Human rights susceptibility' can be explained the importance of gender equality and our own responsibility to achieve it in relation to human rights. In order to apply the linkage between philosophy of the Other and sex ethics education to the school's educational field, the understanding and analysis of sex education currently performed in the school should be preceded. Therefore, this paper examined the reccent trends and changes in sex education in schools, and analyzed how sexuality and gender issues have been discussed in the ethics subject. By analyzing the contents and activities of textbooks, the basis of school education, this study identified whether textbooks can properly relieve the problems the issues of sexuality and gender in the present Korean society. Finally, in order to suggest alternatives to the problems of sex education in the ethics subject, this study considered the convergence of Levinas' philosophy of Other and ideal sex ethics education and its teaching method. In doing so, it presented the conceptual application of the 'Other' and effective educational contents to sex ethics education. Levinas' philosophy of Other is expected to play a major role in the development of ethics education in general and sex ethics education, as well as to establish individual morality. The absolute otherness and the ethical attitude of a subject to the Other can serve as a groundwork for relieving a variety of problems such as sexism and gender conflicts and making proper sex ethics culture for coexistence and peace, not hatred and war.
