dc.description.abstractThe electric-field distribution in coplanar-electrode structures was investigated experimentally by measuring electro-optic (EO) response in a poled DCM-LQ2200 guest-host polyimide system. EO effects for films with various thickness provide information on the field distributions. Rapid reduction of the measured EO response as the film thickness augmented was consistent with the calculated electric-field distributions when proper boundary conditions were considered.-
