Abstract
(Chemical Equation Presented) Iron-mediated oxidation: High-valent iron(IV)-oxo complexes of heme and nonheme ligands are generated in situ and are used in mechanistic studies of alcohol oxidation (see scheme). It is proposed that the oxidation of alcohols occurs by an α-CH hydrogen atom abstraction followed by electron transfer. Porp = porphyrin. © 2005 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
