Alkyne oxidation by nonheme iron catalysts and hydroperoxides

Abstract

Alkynes were oxidized by hydrogen peroxide and tert-butyl hydroperoxide catalyzed by nonheme iron complexes under aerobic and anaerobic conditions: the formation of diketone and α,β-acetylenic oxidation products was significantly affected by the oxidants, and product yields were markedly influenced by the presence of O2. © 2004 Elsevier B.V.
