Abstract
Molecular motions in an organic superconductor, (TMTSF)2 PF6, were investigated by means of 19F NMR. The temperature dependence of the spin-lattice relaxation rate was fitted with two distinct molecular motions, indicating two different modes ascribed to the distorted octahedral anion sublattice. As a result, anisotropic anionic motions, which may trigger the subtle mesoscopic electronic instability in this quasi-1D conductor, were revealed. © 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
