유치원 실외공간을 활용한 유아환경생태교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that outdoor space of kindergarten can be used for environmental and ecological education program to develope the environmental sensitivity of early childhood. environmental and ecological education for early childhood is mainly carried out in the forests. However, there is a problem that the kindergartens without forests at close range can not provide enough free play time for ealry childhood. In addition, it is only a one-time education because of the burden to travel a long distance. Therefore, it is necessary to develop environmental and ecological education programs that utilize the outdoor space of kindergarten for the everyday and continuous environmental ecological education, and to provide supplementary means for environmental and ecological education in forests. The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for environmental and ecological education programs programs using outdoor space of kindergarten. In order to achieve the study's purpose the study questions are established as follows. First, I will develope environmental and ecological education programs programs using outdoor space of kindergarten. Second, I will investigate the programs' effect on the environmental sensitivity of early childhood. To this end, I developed an environmental and ecological education program using outdoor space of kindergarten for early childhood. This study was processed with 16 children aged 3 at a kindergarten located in Jaechon-Si, Chungcheongbuk-Do. The program has been treated to children three times a week for three weeks. And, I measured the environmental sensitivity of early childhood before and after the program to evaluate the effect of program. The program was divided into five areas according to the materials used: ' tree branch ', ' tree ', ' soil ', ' animal ', ' grass and flowers'. The program was carried out as a teaching and learning method called 'free chioice activity' that is not 'teacher-led activity' so that the children can improve the environmental sensitivity naturally in the course of exploring nature and playing with nature. The results of this study are as follows. First, the program using the outdoor space of kindergarten was able to provide everyday and continuous environment and ecological education opportunities to children. Second, the program using outdoor space of kindergarten improved the environmental sensitivity of the target children. As such, since the program is effective for the development of environmental sensitivity of children, it is worth to apply this program to kindergartens without forests nearby.;본 연구는 유치원 실외공간을 활용한 유아 환경생태 교육프로그램이 환경감수성에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 한다. 유아 환경생태교육은 주로 숲에서 이루어지고 있는데 근거리에 숲이 없는 유아교육기관은 유아에게 충분한 자유놀이 시간을 제공하지 못하는 문제점이 있다. 또 먼 거리를 이동해야 하는 부담 때문에 일회성 교육만 실시하는 데 그치고 있는 실정이다. 때문에 일상적이고 지속적인 환경생태교육을 위해 유치원의 실외공간을 활용한 환경생태 교육프로그램을 개발해 숲에서 이뤄지는 환경생태교육의 보완 수단을 마련할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 이에 대한 기초 자료를 마련하는 것이 목적이며, 이를 위해 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유치원 실외공간을 활용한 환경생태교육 프로그램을 개발한다. 둘째, 유치원 실외공간을 활용한 환경생태교육 프로그램이 유아의 환경감수성에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 이를 위해 유아 대상 유치원 실외공간을 활용한 환경생태교육 프로그램(9차시)을 개발했다. 프로그램은 충청북도 제천시에 소재한 K유치원의 만3세 유아 16명에게 4월 10일부터 4월 28일까지 주 3회씩 총 9회 적용하였다. 또한 실외 자유선택놀이를 통한 환경생태교육이 유아의 환경감수성에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위해 대상 유아의 사전, 사후 환경감수성 검사를 실시하였다. 유치원 실외 공간을 활용한 유아환경생태교육 프로그램은 활용 소재에 따라 ‘나뭇가지’, ‘나무’, ‘흙’, ‘동물’, ‘풀과 꽃’ 다섯 개의 영역으로 구분하였다. 수업은 유아가 스스로 충분히 자연을 탐색하고 자연과 함께 놀이하는 과정에서 자연스럽게 환경감수성이 향상될 수 있도록 교사주도형이 아닌 자유선택활동이라는 교수학습법으로 실행되었다. 본 연구에서 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유치원 실외공간을 활용한 환경생태교육 프로그램은 유아에게 일상적이고 지속적인 환경생태교육의 기회를 제공할 수 있었다. 둘째, 유치원 실외공간을 활용한 환경생태교육 프로그램을 실시한 결과 대상 유아의 환경감수성이 향상되었다. 이와 같이 유아 환경생태교육 프로그램은 유아의 환경감수성 발달에 효과가 있기 때문에, 본 프로그램은 근거리에 숲이 없는 유아교육기관에 적용해볼 가치가 있음을 알 수 있다.
