Abstract
Teachers are meaningful entities that engage in all aspects of educational activities such as instruction of students' life and teaching and discipline at school. Therefore, the psychological wellbeing of the teacher is not only an influence on the mental health of the teacher but also an important factor influencing the education and social adaptation of the students. However, recently there have been reports in the media that teachers are experiencing violence by parents, students, and administrators at school sites, the types are diversifying, and the number is increasing every year. However, even though teachers experience violence at the school site, teachers are not included in the category of victims in the "School Violence Prevention and Countermeasures Act". In other words, even if teachers experience violence, they are not protected. Although the violence experience the teacher influences the mental health of the teacher and the mental health again affects the quality of education that the student should receive, the violence experience has not been properly intervened by law. Furthermore, it is suggested that more active research on violence teachers experience should be carried out, considering that the intervention is also tailored to the post-treatment and is not even operating properly. However, there are few studies on negative emotions and the recovery and growth of after-effects of violence in Korea. The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual condition of violence teachers experience by the students and to study the variables that help the post traumatic growth by violence. The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for developing intervention strategies for post-traumatic growth of teachers, assuming that Self-disclosure, Rumination and Social support are variables that help the post-traumatic growth of teachers. The research questions set based on the purpose of this study are as follows. First, what is the reality of violence against teachers? Second, based on the teachers who experienced the damage, what is the effect of stress level after injury, self-disclosure of the teacher, rumination and social support on post-traumatic growth? Third, is the relationship between the level of post-traumatic stress and post-traumatic stress mediated by self-disclosure and growth rumination? Fourth, do social support regulate the relationship between post-traumatic stress and post-traumatic growth after teacher violence? In this study, 404 questionnaires were distributed and collected from 404 middle and high school teachers in Seoul and Incheon. Finally, 362 data were analyzed. The results of the present research is as in the following: First, the number of respondents who experienced violence from students during the past year was 222 teachers, 61.3% of the respondents. According to the type of violence, the most common type of violence by students was 'libel and exclusion', which showed that 201 teachers experienced damage, followed by 'linguistic violence' 149, 148 were physical threats, and only 17 were physical violence. Teachers who experienced violent damage experienced an average of 10.34 times during the past one year. The average number of experiences of 'linguistic violence' was 3.05, and the average of 'libel and exclusion' types was 4.91, 'physical threat' was 2.29, and 'physical violence' was 0.09. Second, Pearson correlation coefficient analysis was performed to confirm the relationship between teacher 's post-injury stress and social support, self - disclosure, rumination and post-traumatic growth. As a result, the level of post-traumatic growth was associated with high levels of stress, high social support, and high rumination. In addition, the influence of stress, social support, self-disclosure, and post-traumatic growth on post-traumatic stress was examined by multiple regression analysis. As a result, post-traumatic stress and self-disclosure had no significant effect on post-traumatic growth. However, social support and rumination were found to have a significant effect. The magnitude of the effect was in the order of rumination and social support. Third, hierarchical regression analysis and Sobel test were used to confirm whether the relationship between post-traumatic stress and post-traumatic growth was mediated by rumination. It was confirmed that it was complete mediated. When trauma is experienced, rumination suggests that it is a very important variable to cushion the harmful effects of trauma. Fourth, hierarchical regression analysis was used to confirm the moderating effect of social support on the relationship between post-traumatic stress and post-traumatic growth. As a result, although there was a positive effect on post-traumatic growth in stage 2, the interaction term of post-traumatic stress and social support was not significant in stage 3. Therefore, it was confirmed that social support is not controlled in the relationship between post-traumatic stress and post - traumatic growth. When the social support was analyzed, it was found that the higher the social support, the more the growth increased. Thus, we found that social support has a positive effect on post - traumatic growth regardless of stress level. However, when social support was applied and analyzed, it was found that the higher the social support, the greater the growth. Thus, we found that social support has a positive effect on post - traumatic growth regardless of stress level. In conclusion, this study confirmed the reality of violence against teachers by students and identified the factors that promote post-traumatic growth in relation to the effect of stress of teachers who experienced violence on post-traumatic growth. It informed the seriousness of the level of stress caused by violence and indicated that intervention was essential. By identifying the factors that promote the post-traumatic growth of the teachers, this research provide basic data for preparing intervention strategies in the future and suggested the direction of the follow-up study.;교사는 학생의 생활지도와 학교에서의 교수활동이나 훈육 등의 교육 활동 전반에 관여하는 의미 있는 존재이다.
