ABRSM 초견 시험 교재 분석 및 교사지침 모델 제안

Abstract

Even though sight reading ability is considered very important in piano education, it is often neglected in everyday piano pedagogy. Various studies have shown that sight reading can be developed through appropriate education and with proposed methodologies to improve sight reading ability; however, it still tends to remain a matter of choice. In addition, sight reading education is almost nonexistent domestically due to various circumstantial reasons and institute-centric piano education. Thus, the object of this study is to help promote sight reading education by proposing effective methods for teachers that can be used in real lessons after analyzing the sight reading tests of ABRSM; a good example of not only promoting sight reading education, but also putting it into practice with systematic curriculum. First, this study examines the trends of sight reading textbooks, both domestic and abroad, and the contents of domestic sight reading textbooks by conducting a survey on the present condition of both domestic and international sight reading textbook publications and studies. Second, it attempts to create a pedagogical approach to sight reading education of ABRSM through the present studies from ABRSM and books written by Harris and Crozier, the representative pedagogues of ABRSM. Third, it shows the characteristics of sight reading in each level and the objectives of the study through the analysis of ABRSM sight reading test textbooks for each parameter such as tonality, meter and rhythm, pitch intervals, harmony, hand position, techniques, expressive marks, pitch range and others. And finally, it proposes effective methods for teachers based on the results of analysis and by referring to the pedagogies of Harris and Crozier. I expect the analysis and pedagogical plans proposed in this study to have a positive impact on sight reading education as well as the utilization of the ABRSM sight reading test textbooks, and I anticipate various studies and developments for sight reading textbooks to be constantly growing.;초견은 피아노 학습에 있어 매우 중요하게 여겨지는 능력이지만 초견 교육에 대해서는 소홀히 하는 경우가 많다. 초견에 관한 다양한 연구들을 통해 초견이 학습을 통해 향상될 수 있음이 밝혀졌고, 초견 능력을 발전시킬 수 있는 여러 방법론들이 제안되었지만 아직까지도 초견 교육이 필수가 아닌 선택의 문제로 받아들여지고 있다. 특히 국내에서는 학원 중심의 피아노 교육과 여러 가지 학습 환경적인 이유로 인해 초견 교육을 찾아보기 어려운 실정이다. 따라서 이번 연구는 체계적인 커리큘럼을 가지고 초견 교육을 권장 및 실행해나가고 있는 사례인 ABRSM의 초견 시험 교재 분석을 통해 실제 수업에 활용 할 수 있는 교사지침 모델을 제안하여 초견 교육 활성화에 도움을 주는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 먼저, 초견 교재 분석에 대한 선행 연구와 국내외 초견 교재 출판 현황 조사를 통해 국내에서 출판된 초견 교재의 구성과 최근 국외에서 출판되고 있는 초견 교재의 동향에 대해 알아보았고, ABRSM에 관한 선행연구와 ABRSM의 대표적인 교수학자인 해리스(Harris)와 크로지어(Crozier)의 저서를 통해 ABRSM의 초견 교육에 대한 교수법적인 접근을 시도하였다. 다음으로는 ABRSM의 초견 시험 교재를 조성, 박자와 리듬, 음정간격, 화성, 손 위치, 주법, 지시어, 음역, 기타 특징 별로 분석하여 각 단계별 초견의 특징 및 학습목표를 찾았다. 위의 분석 결과와 해리스와 크로지어의 교수법을 참고 하여 ABRSM 초견 시험 교재 1~3급을 활용한 교사 지침 모델을 제시하였다. 이번 연구에서 제시한 분석과 교사지침 모델이 ABRSM 초견 시험 교재 활용 및 초견 교육 활성화에 도움이 되길 바라고 앞으로 초견 교재에 대한 다양한 연구 및 개발이 지속적으로 이루어지기를 기대한다.
