대학 아마추어 오케스트라 동아리 구성원의 인식 조사

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 대학 아마추어 오케스트라 동아리 구성원들의 인식을 조사하여 그로 인한 문제점을 알아보고자 하는 것에 있다. 이를 위해 2016년 11월부터 2017년 1월까지 약 3개월간에 걸쳐 5개 동아리의 구성원 97명을 대상으로 설문조사를, 구성원 17명을 대상으로 면담조사를 하였다. 설문조사에서 수집된 자료는 SPSS 23.0을 사용하여 빈도와 퍼센트, 평균을 산출하였으며, 이에 따른 분석결과를 바탕으로 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 구성원들은 오케스트라 활동에 대해 대체로 만족감과 흥미를 느끼고 있으며, 오케스트라 활동을 통해 연주 실력이 향상되고 있었다. 이에 더해 구성원들은 오케스트라 활동을 통해 음악의 심미적 체험을 하고 있었다. 반면 구성원들은 음악 이론적인 부분에 대해서 부족함을 인식하고 있었다. 둘째, 구성원들은 리허설과 연주회에 대해 만족하고 있으며, 흥미를 느끼고 있었다. 리허설과 연주회는 구성원들에게 오케스트라 단원으로서의 실력향상과 자신감 상승에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있었다. 셋째, 구성원들은 연습 시 연습공간을 정기적으로 확보하고 있다고 인식하고 있었다. 이에 반해 연습 시 인원이 부족하여 악기편성에 불균형이 생기고 있다고 인식하고 있었다. 구성원들은 오케스트라 연습시간보다 친목 도모와 협동활동 등의 시간을 비교적 적게 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 임원을 대상으로 한 설문조사를 통해 지휘자와 임원들 간의 의사소통보다 임원들과 구성원 간의 의사소통이 비교적 원활하게 이루어지지 못하고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 임원들은 세부 목표를 오케스트라의 목표에 부합하게 세우고 있지만, 그것을 평가하고 성과를 얻는 것에 있어서 비교적 부족한 면이 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 다섯째, 주관식 문항의 결과를 통해 구성원들은 오케스트라 활동에 있어서 구성원 간의 소통이 더 원활하게 이루어지고 서로 이해하며 협동을 통해 유대감을 형성하는 것을 바라고 있었다. 구성원들은 현재 상황에서 재정, 인원 부족과 연습환경을 개선하는 것을 지적하였으며, 오케스트라의 미래발전을 위해서는 홍보에 좀 더 힘을 쓰고 연습환경이 개선되어야 한다고 지적하였다. 여섯째, 면담조사내용을 분석한 결과에서 도출한 결론은 다음과 같다. 오케스트라 구성원들은 어렵고 힘든 연습과정에도 불구하고 서로 화합하여 하나의 음악을 만들어나가고, 이러한 과정에서 즐거움을 느끼고 있었다. 그리하여 구성원들은 연주회를 성공적으로 이끌어가고 있었으며 이로 인해 성취감을 느끼고 자신감을 얻었다. 이에 더해, 구성원들은 오케스트라 활동에 대해 뚜렷한 목표의식을 가지고 있었으며, 이는 오케스트라와 구성원 모두가 발전할 수 있는 원동력이 되고 있다. 주요어: 대학 동아리, 아마추어 오케스트라, 음악교육;The purpose of this study is to investigate the perceptions of the members of the college amateur orchestra and to examine the problems. From November of 2016 to January of 2017, 97 members of 5 university clubs were surveyed including interviews of 17 members. The frequency, percentage, and mean were calculated using SPSS 23.0. As a result of the research, the following conclusions are followed. First of all, the members are satisfied and interested in activity of the orchestra in general. They are experiencing the performing in the concert, improvement of technical skills, and the music itself as an aesthetic being. However, the members still feel they lack in theoretical parts. Secondly, it is found that the members are satisfied and interested in the rehearsal and the concert. Moreover, presumably, the concert has a positive effect on the improvement of the performance as an orchestra member and the increase of self – confidence. Thirdly, the members feel that they are finding suitable places for regular practice. However, there is an imbalance of musical instruments within the orchestra due to lack of member for the practice. The members experience less time for socializing and co-operative activities than practice. Fourthly, according to the survey on the operational status of the orchestra on the executives, the executives suggested that the communication between the executives and the members are going less smoothly than the communication between the executives and the conductor. Also, the executives set detailed plans for the goals of the orchestra, however, in some parts, how they inadequately evaluate and achieve their goals and plans. Fifthly, through the results of the questionnaire, it is found that the members hoped to form a bond with each other through smooth communication, mutual understanding and cooperation. In addition, the members pointed out the financial issue, shortage of member and improvement of the practice environment in the current situation, but they pointed out more to the lack of publicity and the improvement of the practice environment for the future development of the orchestra. Sixthly, according to the conclusions drawn from the analysis of interviews, the members of the orchestra feel a sense of joy in creating a piece of music in harmony with each other in spite of difficult situations and tough practice. Thus, the members are successfully leading the concert, which make them feel a sense of accomplishment and confidence. The members also had a clear sense of purpose through the orchestra activities, which are a driving force for the orchestra and its members to develop.
