중학생의 삶의 목표와 삶의 만족도의 관계

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of life goal and career identity, which are one of development tasks during adolescent period, on the life satisfaction of students. Specifically, through the classification of life goal into intrinsic and extrinsic goal, it is focused on verifying the effects of life goals on life satisfaction and mediation effect of career identity. As the result of the research on 2,239 middle school students, intrinsic goal influenced on life satisfaction and career identity mediates the relationship between intrinsic goal and life satisfaction. On the contrary, the extrinsic goal has no direct effect on life satisfaction. However, mediation model showed the mediation effects of career identity on correlation between extrinsic goal and life satisfaction. It explains that mediator, career identity for this study, has correlation with extrinsic goal and life satisfaction even if the analysis of the first step of Baron and Kenny’s (1986) mediation effect has no statistically significant. Through the result from this study, it has identified the value and limits of research and suggestions for future studies.;본 연구는 청소년기 삶의 목표 설정과 진로정체감 형성, 삶의 만족도 간에 어떠한 관계가 있는지 알아보는 데에 목적이 있으며, 이를 통해 청소년의 진로 상담을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 구체적으로 삶의 목표, 진로정체감, 삶의 만족도 세 변인이 각각 서로 상관을 가진다는 가정하에, 내재적 목표가 높을수록 삶의 만족도에 정적 영향을 미치며, 진로정체감이 두 변인 사이에서 매개변수로서의 역할을 할 것이라고 가설을 설정하였다. 반면 외재적 목표는 삶의 만족도에 부적 영향을 미치며, 역시 진로정체감이 매개변수로서의 역할을 할 것이라고 가정하였다. 연구가설을 통계적으로 검정하기 위해 한국아동·청소년패널 자료에서 추출한 총 2,239명의 중학생을 대상으로 연구를 실시했으며, SPSS와 Mplus를 이용하여 상관분석과 매개효과 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 내재적 목표는 삶의 만족도에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 내재적 목표와 삶의 만족도의 관계를 진로정체감이 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 내재적 목표가 높을수록 확고한 진로정체감을 형성하고 그로 인해 삶의 만족도가 높아지는 것을 확인하였다. 반면 외재적 목표가 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향은 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 반면 매개효과 검정 결과, 외재적 목표와 삶의 만족도의 관계에서 진로정체감의 매개효과가 통계적으로 유의함이 확인되었다. 이는 진로정체감이라는 매개변수가 외재적 목표, 삶의 만족도와 모두 유의한 상관을 나타내기 때문에 Baron과 Kenny(1986)의 매개효과 1단계 분석 시에는 효과가 없었음에도 불구하고 매개효과가 유의하게 나타난 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 본 연구를 통해 밝혀진 결과들을 바탕으로 하여 연구의 의의와 연구가 갖는 한계점 및 향후 연구를 위한 제언 등을 통합적으로 논의하였다.
