Electrospinning has two advantages: one is preparation of one-dimensional (1D) nanostructures on a simple way and the other is diversification of their composition and materials. In this thesis, the electrochemical properties of 1D nanostructures, synthesized by electrospinning and various post-treatment processes, were studied. In chapter 1, electrospun NiO/NiCo_(2)O_(4) nanotubes were investigated as a catalyst of fuel cell cathode. In chapter 2, RuO_(2) nanorods grown on electrospun WO_(3) nanofibers were synthesized and examined for the electrocatalytic activities with various electrochemical experiments. In chapter 1, NiO/NiCo_(2)O_(4) nanotubes were synthesized using Ni and Co precursor by electrospinning and calcination. For the comparison, Co_(3)O_(4) and NiO nanotubes were also synthesized. To confirm tube-shape and compositions of synthesized materials, field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were used. The rotating disk electrode (RDE) experiments were carried out for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) of the prepared materials in 0.1 M KOH solution. As a result, NiO/NiCo_(2)O_(4) nanotubes showed enhanced electrocatalytic activities for ORR than other synthesized nanotubes, even better than bare Pt electrode. Moreover, it also didn't respond to methanol, which degrades the efficiency of the fuel cell, confirming the possibility as a catalyst of direct methanol fuel cell (DMFCs). In chapter 2, first, WO_(3) nanofibers were synthesized by electrospinning and thermal sintering. Meantime, Ru(OH)_(3) precursor solutions were made by increasing pH of RuCl_(3) precursor solution with alkaline solution. Then, RuO_(2) nanorods were grown on WO_(3) nanofibers (RuO_(2) nanorods-WO_(3) nanofibers) through mixed Ru(OH)_(3) solution and WO_(3) nanofibers, followed by thermal annealing. It was confirmed that RuO_(2) nanorods were grown well on surface of WO_(3) nanofibers by FE-SEM. Composition of RuO_(2)/WO_(3) nanostructure was also identified by XRD and XPS. Through electrochemical measurements, RuO_(2) nanorods-WO_(3) nanofibers represented better electrochemical properties than pure WO_(3) nanofibers. Consequently, RuO_(2) nanorods-WO_(3) nanofibers demonstrated the 103-fold higher specific capacitance and more effective activity for hydrogen evolution than WO3 nanofibers. Furthermore, RuO_(2) nanorods-WO_(3) nanofibers showed good sensitivities for AA oxidation and H_(2)O_(2) reduction, as a possible biosensor.;전기방사는 1차원 나노구조를 간단하게 대량 생산할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 그 구성과 물질을 다양하게 할 수 있다는 장점이 있다.
