- Abstract
- We present an analytical model for a random resource allocation and scheduling scheme for non-real-time polling service (nrtPS) traffic in IEEE 802.16e network. We adopt two system assumptions; unsaturation condition for the queue of each mobile station, and random amount of resources in a frame for each nrt-PS traffic, which are realistic for practical network systems. By jointly considering the selective automatic repeat request mechanism at the media access control layer and the adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) technique at the physical layer, we develop a mathematical model with finite state Markov chain and steady state distribution. Some important performance metrics such as the mean inter-service time and the mean delivery delay are investigated for performance evaluation. © 2012 IEEE.
