Abstract
It is recognized that solution-based approach for synthesis of graphene has a potential of producing large quantities of graphene and provides good opportunities for functionalization [1-3]. Presently, graphene materials may be synthesized using several precursors, such as graphite oxide or expanded graphite (EG) [4-6]. In this study, we develop a method for production of a new form of highly exfoliated graphite (HEG) from intercalated compounds based on poly(dicarbon fluoride) (Fig. 1) and investigate its as a precursor for graphene-like materials. © 2010 IEEE.
