Abstract
Thermoresponsive polydiacetylenes derived from ethylene oxide-containing bisdiacetylenes were synthesized. Thermochromic assays showed bis-polydiacetylenes have the colorimetrically reversible properties in the range of 40 °C and 60 °C in solution as well as in embedded PVA film. Interestingly, bis-polydiacetylenes(PDAs)-embedded electrospun fibers prepared from PEO backbone displayed much wider temperature range of the colorimetric response with reversibility between 40 °C and 80 °C. © 2012 Elsevier B.V.
