Abstract
Disproportionation of dipyrrolylquinoxaline radical anions occurs via hydrogen atom transfer from the pyrrole moiety to the quinoxaline moiety to produce monodeprotonated dipyrrolylquinoxaline anions and monohydrodipyrrolylquinoxaline anions. In contrast, simple quinoxaline radical anions without pyrrole moieties are stable, and disproportionation occurs only in the presence of external protons. © 2011 American Chemical Society.
