Abstract
We have studied the effect of X-ray irradiation defects on the superconducting state and the FISDW state of the organic superconductor (TMTSF)2ClO4, and compared it with that of anion disorder due to rapid cooling. The superconducting transition temperature decreases linearly with residual resistance that grows as cooling rate increases. X-ray irradiation increases residual resistance linearly. However, variation of Tc is different from that by anion disorder. We confirm that x-ray irradiation makes defects in the molecular chain. Also evident is that superconductivity in organic conductors is very sensitive not only to non-magnetic impurities but also to interchain coupling.
