Ultrasound promoted synthesis of beta-hydroxyesters by Reformatsky reaction using indium metal

Abstract

Ultrasound promoted Reformatsky reaction by the reaction of aldehydes or ketone with ethyl bromoacetate in the presence of indium metal afforded beta -hydroxyesters in good to excellent yields under mild conditions.
