한국어 구어 교육을 위한 종결 기능 연결어미 연구

Abstract

한국어 모어 화자는 대화 상황에서 연결어미로 문장을 종결시키는 경향이 있다. 이는 연결어미로서의 본래 기능만을 학습한 외국인 학습자가 실제 의사소통 상황에서 어려움에 처할 가능성이 있음을 시사한다. 그러나 모든 연결어미가 종결 기능을 하는 것은 아니다. 따라서 실제 구어 환경에서 종결 기능을 하는 연결어미를 확인할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 3종의 한국어 사전에 공통으로 등재된 연결어미를 대상으로 종결 기능을 수행하는 항목을 조사하였다. 그런데 종결 기능을 한다고 해서 모든 연결어미가 문법적으로 동등한 위치에 있는 것은 아니다. 종결 기능을 하는 연결어미 중에서도 그 의미 기능이 완전히 변화되어 종결어미화된 연결어미가 있는가 하면, 본래 연결어미일 때의 의미 기능을 가지고 그 위치만 문장 끝에 나타나는 경우가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 실제 한국어 모어 화자의 구어 자료를 분석하여 종결 기능을 하는 연결어미 항목을 추출하고, 각각의 항목이 어떠한 의미 기능으로 쓰였는지 확인하려고 한다. 이를 의미 기능의 변화 유무에 따라 ‘종결어미화된 연결어미’와 ‘종결어미로 기능하는 연결어미’로 구분하여 제시할 것이다. 또한 연결어미의 종결 기능이 한국어 교육 현장에 얼마나 반영되어 있는지 확인하기 위하여, 구어 자료에서 추출된 종결 기능 연결어미 항목을 4종의 한국어 교재에서 살펴보고자 한다. 그리고 최종적으로 본래 의미 기능에서 벗어나 새로운 의미 기능을 담당하는 종결어미화된 연결어미와 단순히 문장 종결만 담당하는 종결어미로 기능하는 연결어미 항목을 목록화할 것이다. 이상의 과정을 통하여, 본 연구가 갖는 의의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 구어 자료를 대상으로 하였다. 둘째, 기존 연구에서 다루지 않았던 연결어미 항목에 대해서도 종결 기능 수행 여부를 확인하였다. 셋째, 구어 자료에 나타난 종결 기능 연결어미 항목의 빈도를 알아보았다. 넷째, 사용 환경을 확인하여 의미 기능의 변화 여부를 살펴보고, 이에 따라 ‘종결어미화된 연결어미’와 ‘종결어미로 기능하는 연결어미’로 구분하였다. 다섯째, 한국어 교재에서 종결 기능 연결어미 항목의 출현 양상을 구체적으로 살펴보았다. 여섯째, 고빈도 항목의 의미적 특징을 실제 예문을 바탕으로 확인하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 몇몇 항목을 대상으로 준구어 자료를 분석하여 종결 기능 연결어미를 목록화한 앞선 연구들과 비교하여 좀 더 실제성이 반영되었다고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구에서 제시된 종결 기능 연결어미 목록이 한국어 구어 문법 교육에 기초 자료로 활용되기를 기대해본다.;The aim of this study is to suggest the list of the connective endings with the function as final endings for spoken Korean education. Korean native speakers tend to end sentences by using connective endings in the conversation. It shows that it is highly possible for foreign students learning only about the original functions of connective endings to experience difficulties in the actual communication. However, every connective ending does not have the function as final endings. Therefore, it is necessary to verify the connective endings that have the function as final endings in the actual spoken environment. Thus, this study examined the items performing the function as final endings, targeting the connective endings commonly registered in three types of Korean dictionary. However, not every connective ending with the function as final endings is not in the equal position grammatically. Among connective endings with the function as final endings, some of them are used as final endings as the semantic function is completely changed while others are shown at the end of sentences with the semantic function of the original connective endings. Thus, this study aims to extract the items of connective ending with the function as final endings by analyzing the actual spoken data of Korean language speakers as mother-tongue, and also to examine the semantic functions of each item. Depending on the matter of changes in the semantic function, it is divided into ‘connective endings used as final endings’ and ‘connective endings functioning as final endings’. Also, in order to verify how final endings of connective endings is reflected to the Korean language educational field, the item of connective endings with the function as final endings extracted from spoken data is examined based on four types of Korean language textbook. Lastly, the connective endings used as final endings taking in charge of new semantic functions getting out of the original semantic functions and the connective endings functioning as final endings simply in charge of ending sentences will be catalogued. Through the process above, the significance of this study is like below. First, the spoken data was targeted. Second, the matter of the function as final endings in regard of the connective endings that have not been dealt by the existing researches was verified. Third, the frequency of the connective endings with the function as final endings shown in spoken data was examined. Fourth, based on the matter of changes in the semantic functions by verifying the user environment, ‘connective endings used as final endings’ and ‘connective endings functioning as final endings’ were divided. Fifth, the appearance aspect of connective endings with the function as final endings in Korean language textbooks was examined. Sixth, the semantic characteristics of the high frequency items were examined based on the actual examples. Therefore, analyzing the semi-spoken data targeting several items, the reality has been reflected more compared to the preceding researches catalogued the connective endings with the function as final endings. The list of the connective endings with the function as final endings suggested by this study is expected to be used as basic data for the spoken grammar education of Korean language.
