학문 목적 한국어 학습자를 위한 자연과학계열 전공 기본어휘 선정

Abstract

본 연구는 한국에서 학위 취득을 목적으로 유학중인 외국인 학습자들을 위한 ‘자연과학계열 전공 한국어 기본 어휘’를 선정하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 어휘 목록을 구축하기 위해 첫째로 2011년부터 2015까지 출제된 대학수학능력시험 과학탐구영역 물리, 화학, 생명과학 문제지와 편수자료를 비교하여 이에 공통된 항목을 추출하였다. 편수자료는 교육부에서 교과용 도서를 편찬하며 교과 학습 내용과 교수·학습 상황에 사용되는 학술 용어를 통일하고 편수 업무에 도움이 되는 사항들이나 자료를 정리하여 편찬한 자료로서, 중등 교육과정 중에 학습자들이 배우는 개념을 어휘 항목 단위로 제시한 것이다. 따라서 편수자료와 대학수학능력시험 문제지를 비교하면 대학 전공 수업을 듣기 시작하는 신입생들이 필수적으로 알아야 하는 전공 기본 어휘 목록을 구축할 수 있다. 그 결과 물리 313 개, 화학 356개, 생명과학 491 개 항목이 추출되었다. 또 편수자료와 공통된 어휘 목록 내에서 한국어 어휘 교육 내용 개발(강현화 외, 2012, 2013)에서 제시한 한국어 교육용 기초어휘를 따로 표시하여 자연과학계열 전공 기본 어휘 내 기초어휘의 비율을 알아보았다. 두 번째로는 대학수학능력시험 문제지에서 사용된 사고도구어를 알아보기 위해 신명선(2004a)에서 제시한 사고도구어와 문제지를 비교하여 자연과학계열에서 사용하는 351 단어의 사고도구어 목록을 제시했다. 추출한 자연과학계열 기본 어휘와 사고도구어는 사용 빈도, 사용 범위, 사용 분포를 계산하여 중요도를 표시하였다. 본 연구는 어휘 목록 작성을 위해 기존 말뭉치 구축 프로그램을 사용하지 않고 JAVA를 이용하여 개별 행에서 해당 어휘를 검색하는 새로운 방식으로 공통 어휘를 걸러내는 프로그램을 만들어 사용하였다. 그리고 국가 수준의 학력 평가인 대학수학능력시험 문제를 한국어교육 영역에 적용함으로써 전문가들에게 검증된 공교육 자료를 활용하는 방안을 제시한 점에서도 그 의의를 찾을 수 있겠다.;L’objectif de cette étude est de créer une liste de ‘vocabulaire fondamental de science naturelle ‘, une liste de mots recouvrant le vocabulaire essentiel pour un étudiant du langage coréen qui poursuit un cursus universitaire en science naturelles en Corée. La création du ‘vocabulaire fondamental de science naturelle’ a été conduite en 3 étapes : Le but de la première a été l’extraction des mots à la fois dans les questions qui composent le ‘College Scholastic Aptitude Test’ (CSAT, l’équivalent du Baccalauréat en Corée) et le glossaire des sciences du ministère de l’éducation coréen. Le glossaire des sciences est un index de mots visant à guider les maisons d’éditions qui s’occupent des manuels scolaires coréens. Le CSAT est un examen requis pour les étudiants coréens afin de pouvoir entrer dans un cursus universitaire. La recherche du vocabulaire commun à ces 2 entités permet de générer un base solide de mots qui a été reconnu nécessaire à la fois par le ministère de l’éducation coréen et par les professeurs académiques en charge de la rédaction des questions du CSAT, et permet donc d’établir une liste de mots qu’il est nécessaire de connaitre pour tout étudiant qui désire entrer à l’université. L’analyse de la fréquence, de l’amplitude et de la dispersion des mots utilisés dans les questions pendant les années 2011 à 2015 a permis d’enregistrer 313 unités en physiques, 356 en chimie et 491 en biologie. Durant la seconde étape, la liste établie précédemment a été comparé aux résultats des études « Research on Korean Language Education Vocabulary Content Development » (Kang et. al, 2012, 2013) afin de vérifier le pourcentage de mots ‘basiques’. Finalement, la dernière étape avait pour but d’orienter la liste sur un vocabulaire académique. Pour cela, les données obtenues précédemment ont été recoupées avec la liste de mots établie par Shin (Shin, 2004a). Cette étude apporte aussi des nouveautés en termes de méthodologie par rapport aux recherches précédentes dans le même domaine : Premièrement, la construction du corpus a été effectuée en utilisant un nouveau programme informatique qui a recherché ligne par ligne des mots spécifiques dans les questions du CSAT. Cela permet de montrer comment de futures recherches dans le domaine de l’enseignement des langages peuvent bénéficier des nouvelles technologies et des avancements en informatique. Deuxièmement, l’utilisation du glossaire des sciences et des questions du CSAT permettent d’assurer que a liste correspond à une base de connaissance que chaque étudiant coréen et sensé avoir acquis durant son éducation secondaire. Le but de ce travail est de produire un liste de mots permettant d’aider significativement les étudiants étrangers afin d’avoir une meilleure connaissance du vocabulaire qu’ils se doivent de connaitre pour entrer dans une université coréenne.;This study aims to select fundamental vocabularies of natural science? a list of the most essential vocabularies for the learners of Korean language who major in natural science at the universities in Korea. The creation of the fundamental vocabulary list has been conducted in 3 stages: The purpose of the first one was to extract the words that were used in both the questions from College Scholastic Aptitude Test(CSAT) and the science glossary of the Ministry of the Education in Korea. The science glossary is the index of words that is used to guide the publisher of textbook in Korean schools. The CSAT is a requirement for any Korean student in order to go to the university. Finding the common vocabulary of these 2 entities allows to generate a solid base of words that has been recognized necessary by both the Ministry of Education and the Academic professors in charge of making the questions, hence necessary for a student that desire to attend the courses at the university. From the analyze of the frequency, range and dispersion of the words used in the question between the years 2011 to 2015, a record of 313 items in physics, 356 items in chemistry and 491 items in biology has been produced. In the second stage, our list has been compared to the results of the Research on Korean Language Education Vocabulary Content Development (Kang et. al, 2012, 2013) in order to verify the percentage of words that belong to the basic vocabularies in the fundamental vocabularies of natural science. Finally in the last stage of the construction of, the 멲cademic vocabulary lists for natural science? the data extracted previously has been matched with the list of words established by Shin (Shin, 2004a) to constitute the academic word list. This study also differs from previous researches by its new methodology: Firstly, the construction of the corpus has been achieved using a new computer program that searched the specific words in the CSAT questions line by line. It demonstrates how researches in Language education can benefit from new technologies and advancement in IT. Secondly, the usage of the science glossary and CSAT to ensure that the list meet the base of knowledge that each Korean student is expected to have acquired during their secondary education. The aim of the work was to produce a list of word that can significantly help the foreign students to have a better grasp on the vocabulary they should know in order to attend Korean universities.
