탁전의 전통에 기반한 성찰적 글쓰기 교육 방안 연구

Abstract

This paper is mainly focused on the 'reflection' in literary education. We have a long literary tradition of reflective writing. However, only autobiography, not ‘entrust-biography’, which is ‘Tak-Jeon(Traditional Entrust-Biography)’, has been noted. From this viewpoint, traditions of reflection in tak-jeon, where writer's life itself was narrated through virtual characters, were intended to be delivered to contemporary learners, and to be utilized as tools for literature education on reflective writing. The method of pretending himself/herself as other character in tak-jeon can provide opportunities to look back on oneself, thereby understanding oneself and conducting reflection. We then tried to propose educations on retrospective writing based on tak-jeon. This report is founded on existing preceding research, and focuses on the characteristics of self introspective narrations through virtual characters, expressing and introspecting themselves by objectification, defined to be 'reflective writing' by us. On the basis of the above natures of tak-jeon, learners would have opportunities to reflect and introspect themselves. According to our observations, existing studies on Lee Gyubo‘s <Baek-Un-Goe-Sa-Jeon> and Choi Hae’s <Ye-San-Eun-Ja-Jeon> did not discuss much on self reflection, so our discussion focused on the traditional way of tak-jeon's writing. In chapter 2, before discussing on the educations on reflective writing based on tak-jeon's traditions, we tried to build a theoretical foundations for them. First of all, we investigated preceding research on reflective writing, and then educational importance of reflective writing was looked into, where examinations on which roles can be played by reflective writing in the literature educations were carried out. Next, characteristics of tak-jeon was revealed, and the values of literature education were analyzed, so that tak-jeon, which haven't been studied much until now, was reviewed. The aspects of writing appeared in four ways, ‘to be someone else’, ‘the view point of life’, ‘the description of life’, and ‘the perspective of looking at oneself’. However, ‘the perspective of life’ of the author is close to ‘the narrative way of life and self’, so we would put these into one aspect in the next chapter. In chapter 3, the characteristics of retrospective method described in each <Baek-Un-Goe-Sa-Jeon> and <Ye-San-Eun-Ja-Jeon> were analyzed. <Baek-Un-Goe-Sa-Jeon> were represented with three viewpoints, namely 'objectification through pen-naming', ‘future-oriented life description through positive view of life', and 'view of life based on self-confidence' while <Ye-San-Eun-Ja-Jeon> were described with opposite three viewpoints, namely 'objectification through disguised names', 'retrospective narrations on life with cynical and critical viewpoint', 'view of life through humbleness' Next, reflective writings shown in <Baek-Un-Goe-Sa-Jeon> and <Ye-San-Eun-Ja-Jeon> were categorized into three aspects, namely 'values suggested through naming behaviors', 'retrospection through positive or negative thinking', and 'view of life under subjective viewpoint', which were all analyzed and compared in this report. In chapter 4, <Baek-Un-Goe-Sa-Jeon> and <Ye-San-Eun-Ja-Jeon>, the educational principles of reflective writing based on entrust-biography are as follows: First, the values represented by the naming action; second, reflection of life through various points of view; and the third, the writing by using the principle of entrust[託]. The significance of this paper is as follows. First, we could find other advantages of entrust-biography which are different from those of autobiography. Second, we could find that it is proper way to use the panoramic way for learners to reflect on their lives. Third, we could make a connection between the specificity of the classical Korean reflective writing and the current reflective writing education.; 본고는 고전문학의 다양한 갈래에서 자전, 운문술회, 탁전, 자천 묘도문자, 자만 등 자서전적인 시와 산문의 글들을 통해 자신의 삶을 되돌아보고 성찰하는 전통을 지니고 있음에도 불구하고 지금까지 이러한 고전문학이 지니고 있는 성찰적 전통에 주목하지 않아온 사실을 연구의 출발점으로 삼았다. 이러한 시각에서 작가 자신의 일생을 가상의 인물에 가탁하여 서술한 탁전(託傳)의 성찰 전통을 현대의 학습자들에게 전달하고 성찰적 글쓰기를 문학교육에 활용하고자 하였다. 자아를 타자화하는 방식을 통해 자신의 내면을 되돌아보고 성찰할 수 있는 계기를 마련해 주는 탁전이 자신을 이해하고 성찰하기에 알맞은 형식이라 점을 강조하고자 하였다. 이를 통해 탁전의 전통에 기반한 성찰적 글쓰기 교육 방안을 제시하였다. 본고는 기존 선행 연구 검토를 토대로 탁전의 자아 타자화의 서술적 특성을 통해 자신을 객관화 시켜 표현하고 성찰하는 글쓰기를 ‘성찰적 글쓰기’라 정의 내렸다. 이러한 탁전의 특성에 근거하여 학습자로 하여금 자신을 되돌아보고 성찰하는 계기를 마련하고자 하였다. 기존의 이규보의 <백운거사전>과 최해의 <예산은자전>을 다룬 연구들이 자아의 타자화([託])의 특성에 대한 논의가 상대적으로 부족하다는 점에 착안하여 탁전의 전통 양식에 초점을 맞추어 논의를 진행하였다. 2장에서는 탁전의 전통에 기반한 성찰적 글쓰기 교육을 다루기에 앞서 이를 위한 이론적 기저를 마련하였다. 우선 성찰적 글쓰기의 선행연구를 살피고 성찰적 글쓰기의 문학교육적 의의를 되돌아보는 과정을 통해 문학교육에서 성찰적 글쓰기가 어떠한 역할을 수행할 수 있는지 살폈다. 다음으로 탁전의 특성을 밝히고 탁전의 문학교육적 가치를 분석하는 과정을 통해 지금까지 문학교육에서 주요하게 다루어지지 않았던 탁전을 재조명하고자 하였다. 또한 <백운거사전>과 <예산은자전>에 나타난 글쓰기의 양상을 ‘자아를 타자화 하는 방식’, ‘삶을 서술하는 방식’, ‘삶의 관점’, ‘자신을 바라보는 관점’ 네 가지로 제시하였다. 다만 글쓴이의 ‘삶의 관점’은 ‘삶은 서술하는 방식’과 밀접하게 맞닿아 있기에 3장에서는 ‘삶을 서술하는 방식’과 ‘삶의 관점’을 하나의 관점으로 통합․수정하여 성찰적 글쓰기의 양상을 세 가지로 제시하였다. 3장에서는 <백운거사전>과 <예산은자전> 각각의 작품에 나타난 성찰적 글쓰기의 양상을 분석하였다. 두 작품에 나타난 성찰적 글쓰기의 양상을 <백운거사전>은 ‘아호를 통한 타자화’, ‘긍정적 삶의 관점을 통한 미래지향적 삶의 서술’, ‘자아를 높이는 방식을 통한 삶의 조망’, <예산은자전>은 ‘변형된 성명을 통한 타자화’, ‘냉소 · 비판적 삶의 관점을 통한 과거 회고적 삶의 서술’, ‘자아를 낮추는 방식을 통한 삶의 조망’ 세 가지로 각각 제시하였다. 다음으로 <백운거사전>과 <예산은자전>에 나타난 성찰적 글쓰기의 양상을 ‘명명 행위를 통한 가치관 제시’, ‘긍정적 또는 부정적 인식을 통한 자기 성찰’, ‘주관적 관점에 따른 삶의 조망’ 세 가지로 제시하고 이를 비교 · 분석 하였다. 4장에서는 <백운거사전>과 <예산은자전>에 나타난 성찰적 글쓰기 양상을 토대로 ‘명명행위를 통한 가치관 표현’, ‘다양한 관점에 따른 삶의 성찰’, ‘자아의 타자화([託])를 활용한 서술‘이라는 탁전에 기반한 성찰적 글쓰기의 교육 원리를 제시하였다. 또한 성찰적 글쓰기와 관련된 쓰기 단원의 교과서 내용을 살피는 과정을 통해 실제 교육 내용과 앞에서 제시한 탁전에 기반한 성찰적 글쓰기의 교육 원리를 연계할 수 있는 방안에 대해 다루고자 하였다. 탁전의 전통에 기반한 성찰적 글쓰기의 교육 방안을 연구한 본고는 다음과 같은 의의를 지닌다. 첫째, 자아 타자화라는 ‘탁([託])’이라는 특성에 초점을 맞추어 논의를 펼쳤다. 둘째, 탁전의 자아를 타자화하는 방식이 자신을 이해하고 성찰하기에 알맞은 형식이라는 점을 밝혔다. 셋째, 한국 고전의 성찰적 글쓰기의 특수성을 현재 성찰적 글쓰기의 보편성에 접목할 수 있는 접점을 찾고자 하였다.
