아버지의 양육참여도와 만 2세 영아의 놀이성과의 관계

Abstract

본 연구는 만 2세 자녀를 둔 아버지 전반적인 양육참여도를 알아보고 아버지의 양육참여도와 아버지의 배경 변인(연령, 학력, 직업, 어머니 취업여부)과의 관계 및 아버지의 양육참여도와 만 2세 영아의 놀이성과의 관련성에 대해 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 1. 만 2세 자녀를 둔 아버지의 양육참여는 어떠한가? 2. 만 2세 자녀를 둔 아버지의 양육참여도는 아버지의 배경 변인(연령, 학력, 직업, 어머니 취업여부)과 어떠한 관계가 있는가? 3. 만 2세 자녀를 둔 아버지의 양육참여도와 영아의 놀이성은 어떠한 관계가 있는가? 본 연구의 대상은 서울, 경기도에 소재한 22개의 어린이집에 다니는 만 2세 영아와 그 자녀를 둔 아버지 186명을 연구대상으로 하였다. 이영환, 조복희, 이진숙(1999)의 아버지의 양육참여도 척도를 수정 보완하여 사용하였으며, 영아의 놀이성을 측정하기 위해서 Liberman(1965)의 정의에 기초하여 유아의 놀이성향을 측정하기 위해 Barnett(1991)이 제작한 유아의 놀이성 척도(Children's Playfulness Scale)를 유애열(1994)이 번역하고 윤상인(2011)이 영아용으로 수정 보완한 것으로 사용하였다. 회수된 질문지로 연구 대상의 특성은 빈도와 백분율을 산출하였고, 만 2세 자녀를 둔 아버지의 양육참여도를 알아보기 위해 하위요인별로 평균과 표준편차를 구하였으며, 아버지의 양육참여도와 아버지의 배경 변인과의 관계를 알아보기 위해 F검정을 하였다. 아버지의 양육참여도와 영아의 놀이성과의 상관관계를 알아보기 위해 Pearson의 단순적률상관계수로 산출하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 만 2세 자녀를 둔 아버지의 양육참여도를 살펴보면 자녀와 함께 하는 활동에 대한 양육참여도가 가장 높았으며, 발달적 지지에 대한 양육참여도는 상대적으로 가장 낮았다. 둘째, 아버지의 양육참여도는 연령과는 유의미한 관계는 없으나, 학력이 높은 아버지가 학력이 낮은 아버지보다 양육참여도가 높았다. 또한 아버지의 직업이 사무직이고 전문기술직이면 아버지의 양육참여도가 높았으나, 판매직 서비스직에 근무하는 아버지일 경우 양육참여도가 낮았다. 아버지의 양육참여도와 어머니의 취업여부와의 관계에서는 양육참여도 하위요인인 발달적 지지에서 전일제 취업을 한 어머니가 시간제 취업을 한 어머니보다 아버지의 양육참여도가 더 높았다. 셋째, 아버지의 양육참여도와 만 2세 영아의 놀이성과의 관계를 살펴본 결과, 아버지의 양육참여도가 높을수록 만 2세 영아의 놀이성이 높아졌다. 아버지의 자녀돌보기 및 지도, 자녀와 함께 하는 활동에 대한 양육참여는 영아의 놀이성 모든 하위요인과 정적인 상관관계를 보였으며, 발달적 지지에 대한 양육참여는 신체적 자발성을 제외한 놀이성의 하위요인인 사회적 자발성, 인지적 자발성, 즐거움의 표현, 유머감각에서 정적인 상관관계를 보였다. ;The purpose of this study was to explore father’s overall involvement in 2-year-old child rearing and the relationship between father’s involvement in child rearing and father’s background variables (age, education, occupation, employment status of mother) as well as the relationship between father’s involvement in 2-year-old child rearing and infant’s play characteristics. 1. How is father’s involvement in 2-year-old child rearing? 2. What is the relationship between father’s involvement in 2-year-old child rearing and father’s background variables (age, education, occupation, employment status of mother) 3. What is the relationship between father’s involvement in child 2-year-old child rearing and infant’s play characteristics? The subject of this study consists of 186 fathers whose 2-year-old infants are attending 22 kindergartens in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Subordinate scale of father’s involvement in child rearing by Young Hwan Lee, Bok Hee Cho, Jin Suk Lee(1999) was utilized with correction and supplementation. In order to measure characteristics of child’s play, Children’s Playfulness Scale by Barnet(1991) was utilized with the version of Yu Ae Yul’s (1994) translation and Yun Sang In’s (2011) update for the use of infant. The frequency and percentage was calculated with the collected questionnaires of the features of the study subjects. Average and standard deviation was also calculated by sub-factors in order to investigate father’s involvement in 2-year-old child rearing. F test was performed in order to investigate the relationship between father’s involvement in child rearing and father’s background variables. Pearson’s simple correlation coefficient was calculated in order to investigate the relationship between father’s involvement in child rearing and infant’s play characteristics. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, as examining father’s involvement in 2-year-old child rearing, the involvement in the activities with children was the highest, while the involvement in developmental support was the lowest relatively. Second, there was no significant relationship between father’s involvement and age, however, the father with high educational attainment showed more involvement than the father with low educational attainment. In addition, when the occupation of father was white-collar and professional, the father’s involvement in child rearing was high. When the occupation of father was sales and service, the involvement was low. In the relationship between father’s involvement in child rearing and the employment status of mothers, father’s involvement was higher in the case of full-time mother rather than part-time mother in developmental support as the sub-factor of involvement in childrearing. Third, as examining the relationship between father’s involvement in child rearing and 2-year-old infant’s play characteristics, more involvement in child rearing increased 2-year-old infant’s play characteristics. Child care and guidance of father and the involvement in the activities with child showed positive correlation with all sub-factors of infant’s play characteristics. The involvement in developmental support showed positive correlation with sub-factors of play characteristics as social spontaneity, cognitive spontaneity, expression of joy, sense of humor except for physical spontaneity.
