dc.description.abstract1. Purpose : This study was designed to determine the correlation between scientific attitudes and scientific inquiry skil1 achievement among high school students. The following points were studied specifically 1) level of scientific attitudes 2) level of scientific inquiry skill achievement 3) gender difference in scientific attitudes and scientific inquiry skill achievement 4) general correlation between scientific attitudes and scientific inquiry skill achievement 2. Method : A total of 307 high school students, 178 female and 129 male, was selected by random stratified cluster sampling. A questionnaire on scientific attitudes and a test on scientific inquiry skill achievement were used for the study. The result was analyzed by t-test correlation, using statistical packages SAS and SPSS/PC^(+). 3. Findings : 1) The level of scientific attitudes among high school students was 2.9 on the Lickert's scale, and there was no significant difference between male and female students. 2) The level of scientific inquiry skill achievement was 71.6%, which is a little higher than expected. And, the achievement of male students was significantly higher than that of female students at the level of p < 0.01 3) The correlation coefficient between scientific attitudes and scientific inquiry skill achievement was low(r = 0.26) but significant.
