교육적 집단화에 대한 계층별 학부모의 태도

Abstract

본 논문에서는 집단화를 학교현장에서 일어나는 교육계층화의 한 현상으로 보고, 지금까지의 집단화에 대한 관점을 기초로 구체적인 형태로 나타나는 집단화의 두 양식인, 능력별 집단화와 교과과정별 집단화에 대한 학부모들의 반대 및 지지등의 태도를 분석하여, 학부모들이 학교에서의 집단화과정이 계층에 따라 서로 다르게 작용하며, 이러한 집단화가 학교에서의 지적계층을 형성함으로서 갖는 사회적 함의를 파악하고 있는지 알아보는데 있다. 본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 문제들을 설정하였다. 첫째, 능력별 집단화에 대한 학부모의 태도는 학생의 성적에 따라 다른가? 둘째, 능력별 집단화에 대한 학부모의 태도에는 계층에 따라 차이가 있는가? 세째, 교과과정별 집단화에 대한 학부모의 태도는 계층의 영향을 받는가? 네째, 교과과정별 집단화에 대한 학부모의 태도는 학생의 성적에 따라 차이가 있는가? 위와 같은 연구문제를 다루기 위한 방법으로 본 연구에서는 표집과정을 통해서, B여고 1학년 학생의 학부모 117명을 선정하여, 1987년 2월 16일부터 2월22일까지, 연구자가 작성한 질문지를 사용하여 집단화에 대한 학부모들의 태도를 조사하였다. 질문지는 107부가 회수되었으며, 6부는 응답상의 미비로 제외되었고, 101부에 대한 내용이 통계처리되었다. 학부모들의 사회·경제적 지위와 학생들의 성적을 변수로 설정하여, 교육적 집단화에 대한 학부모들의 태도를 평균차의 검증으로 분석했다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 능력별 집단화에 대한 학부모의 태도는 학생의 성적에 따라서 차이가 있다. 둘째, 능력별 집단화에 대한 학부모의 태도에는 계층에 따른 차이는 없다. 세째, 교과과정별 집단화에 대한 학부모의 태도는 학생의 성적 또는 계층에 따른 차이가 없다.;The objectives of this study are to analyze the parents' attitudes on two modes of educational grouping, this is, ability grouping and curriculum grouping and to identify that parents grasp the differential procedures of grouping by the Socio-Economic Status and the social implication of intellectual stratification in schools In this study, educational grouping is defined as a phenomenon of the educational stratification. Based on the perspectives of the educational grouping, these subjects are formulated. First, do the students' academic results influence the parents' attitudes toward the ability grouping? Second, is there any difference in parents' attitudes by Socio- Economic Status toward the ability grouping? Third, are the parents' attitudes toward the curriculum grouping affected by Socio-Economic Status? Fourth, is there any difference in the parents' attitudes by students' academic results toward the curriculum grouping? The survey was designed to test the hypotheses formulated for the study. The survey adopted a self-administered questionnaire which contained scales to measure the parents' attitudes toward the educational groupings. After the pilot-test, the survey was conducted from Feb. 16 to Feb. 22, 1987 to a total of 117 parents selected from the first grade of B Girls' High School. 107 questionnaires were gathered but 6 were excepted because of the insufficiency in answer. The collected data of the survey were analyzed by the using such procedure as mean difference test under the variables of SES and Credit. The findings of the analysis are, First, there is a significant difference in parents' attitudes by students' academic results toward the ability grouping. Second, there is no difference in parents' attitudes by Socio- Economic Status toward the ability grouping. Third, there is no difference in parents' attitudes by Socio- Economic Status or students' academic results toward the curriculum grouping.
