아동의 나이개념 및 나이역할 개념 발달에 관한 연구

Abstract

This study is to find out whether there is significant relationships between the development of age concepts or roles among several variables such as age, sex, and family structure. The questions for this study are as follows: I. Are there any differences in the development of children's concepts of age according to the age and the sex? Ⅱ. Are there any differences in the children's age roles according to the age, the sex and the family structure? The subjects for this study included 140 children; 3 to 4 years old in a preschool and 5 to 10 years old in an elementary school located in Suwon City. Two kinds of tests for each age concepts and roles were given. The test for age concepts was used the picture of Looft modified by the researcher. Also, for testing the age roles The Thinking Game for Interview on Age Roles of Edward and Ramsey modified by the researcher was used. The development of age concepts was analyzed by means and percentage of each age group. And F test was applied for the differences between age and sex. The age roles were analyzed by percentage. The result of the study are as follows: I-1 The development of age concepts according to age for four-subset are shown below. A. In the case of same age but different sizes in physical appearances age concepts were increased age. B. In the case of older age-bigger sizes in physical appearances, younger age-smaller sizes there were not any difference according to age. C. In the case of older age-smaller sizes in physical appearances, young age-smaller sizes age concepts increased with age. D. In the case of same sizes in physical appearances but different age, age concepts were increased with age. I-2. There were not any difference according to sex for the development of age concepts. Ⅱ-1. There were not any difference according to age for an object of age roles. Ⅱ-2. According to sex, there was significant reactions to the same sex for an object of care roles but there were no difference for an object of play roles. Ⅱ-3. According to the family structure, children of a large family had a high tendency to choice the adult as an object of care roles but children of a small family had a tendency to choice the adult object of play roles.;본 연구는 4-10세 아동의 나이개념 및 나이역할개념의 발달상의 특징을 알아보고, 이들 개념발달은 연령, 성별, 가족형태에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는지 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 설정한 연구문제는 아래와 같다. 1. 아동의 나이개념 발달은 연령 및 성별에 따라 차이가 있는가? 2. 아동의 나이역할개념 발달은 연령, 성별 및 가족형태에 따라 차이가 있는가? 연구방법으로서는 4-10세 아동 140명을 연구대상으로 선정하여 나이개념과 나이역할개념을 측정하는 2가지 검사를 실시하였다. 나이개념 발달을 알아보기 위해 사용한 도구는 Looft의 그림도구를 수정 보완한 것을 기초로, 네가지 하위검사를 작성, 사용하였다. 나이역할개념을 알아보기 위해서는 Edwards 와 Ramsey가 사용한 나이역할에 관한 사고게임면접을 보완하여 사용하였다. 연구절차는 사전검사와 본검사로 나누어 실시하였다. 자료의 처리는 나이개념 발달경향은 연령집단별 점수의 평균 및 백분율을 산출하였으며, 연령과 성별 차이에 관하여는 F검증을 실시하였다. 나이역할 개념의 경향은 검사의 각 항목별 반응아동수를 백분율로 산출하여 비교하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 아래와 같다. 1. 아동의 연령에 따른 나이개념 발달을 네가지 하위검사별로 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 가. 나이가 같으나 체격이 다른 경우, 개념발달은 연령이 증가함에 따라 높아진다. 나. 나이가 많을수록 체격이 크고, 나이가 적을수록 체격이 작은 경우, 연령을 따라 차이를 보이지 않았다. 다. 나이가 많으나 체격이 작고, 적은 나이이나 체격이 큰 경우, 개념발달은 연령이 증가함에 따라 높아진다. 라. 나이가 다르나 체격이 같은 경우, 개념발달은 연령이 증가함에 따라 높아진다. 2. 아동의 나이개념 발달에 있어 성별에 따른 차이가 없었다. 3. 아동의 나이역할개념은 연령에 따라 차이가 없었다. 4. 아동의 나이역할개념 발달에 있어서 성별에 따른 차이는 보호역할 대상의 경우, 같은 성에 높은 반응을 나타내었다. 반면, 놀이역할 대상의 경우는 차이를 보이지 않았다. 5. 아동의 나이역할개념 발달에 있어서 가족형태에 따른 차이를 살펴보면, 대가족 아동은 보호역할 대상으로 어른을 선택하는 경향이 높았다. 반면, 핵가족 아동은 놀이역할 대상으로 어른을 선택하는 경향이 높았다.
