국민학교 교사의 국어 사회과 질문 유형에 관한 조사 연구

Abstract

수업에서 교사의 질문은 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 즉 질문 기술은 교사가 아동의 사고를 자극하고 학습을 이끌어 가기 위해 필요하다. 본 조사는 질문-응답 과정에서 교사의 질문유형과 아동의 참여를 알아 보려는 연구이다. 구체적인 문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 국어와 사회시간에 교사가 아동에게 사용하는 질문유형은 무엇인가? - 질문유형은 과목, 단원, 학년에 따라 차이가 있는가? 또한 선두 질문유형에 따라 후속 질문유형에 차이가 있는가? 2. 국어와 사회 시간에 아동의 참여는 어느 정도인가? 가. 아동의 질문유형은 과목, 단원, 학년에 따라 차이가 있는가? 나. 아동의 응답빈도는 과목, 단원, 학년에 따라 차이가 있는가? 본 조사의 대상은 서울에 소재한 여섯개 국민학교의 교사 13 명이다. 교사의 질문행동을 조사하기 위해 국어과와 사회과 수업을 녹음하고 분석하였다. 교사의 질문행동을 알아보기 위해서, 선두 질문유형은 Gallagher & Aschner(1963)의 분류를 사용했고, 후속 질문유형은 George et. als(1974)의 분류를 사용하여 각 변인별 질문의 평균빈도와 백분율을 산출하였다. 교사의 질문과 관련된 아동의 참여를 알아보기 위해서는 아동의 질문유형과 한 질문에 대해 응답한 아동의 평균수로 살펴보았다. 본 조사에서 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 선두 질문유형에서는 인지기억적 질문이 가장 높은 비율을 차지하였고, 후속 질문유형 에서는 재질문이 가장 높은 비율을 차지하였다. 2. 수렴적 질문은 전기문단원에서 높게 나타났고 확산적 질문은 민족의 발달단원에서 높게 나타났고 평가적 질문은 시단원에서 높게 나타났다. 3. 명료화요구질문은 인지기억적 질문에서 높게 나타났고 증거요구질문은 모두 낮게 나타났는데 특히 평가적 질문에서는 가장 높게 나타났다. 4. 아동의 질문유형은 주로 지식수준의 질문이었고 산업의 발달 단원에서 가장 높은 비율로 나타났다. 5. 한 질문당 아동의 평균 응답수는 2.59명으로 나타났고 평가적 질문에서 가장 많은 아동이 응답했고 인지기억적 질문이 가장적은 아동이 응답한 것으로 나타났다.;The purpose of this study is to investigate the types of teacher's questioning-answering behavior and their occurances in classroom activities. The specific problems of study are the following: 1. What type of question does the teacher use in language arts and social studies sessions? Are the types of question different according to subjects, units and grades? Are the types of follow-up questions different according to the types of initial questions? 2. How much do the childrens participate ,in language arts and social studies session? (1) Are the types of children's question different according to subjects, units and grades? (2) Are the frequency of children's answer different according to subjects, units and grades? The subjects of this study were randomly selected from the elementary school teachers in Seoul. To investigate the teacher's questioning behaviors, language arts and social studies sessions were recorded and analyzed. The category systems by Gallagher & Aschner (1963) and George et. als (1974) were used for data analysis: the types of teacher's question and the children's participation. The results were analyzed by the percentage and the mean frequency method according to each variable. The results are as follows. 1. The most frequently used initial questions were cognitive-memory type and follow-up questions were re-direction type. 2. The most frequently used convergent questions were related to the Biography unit, divergent questions to the National development Unit, and evaluative questions to the poem Unit. 3. The most frequently used asking for clarification questions were cognitive question. Asking for evidence questions were least frequently used and especially was not founded in evaluative question. 4. The types of children's question were almost knowledge-level and the most frequently used knowledge-level questions were related to the Industrial Development Unit. 5. The average number of children's answer for a question was 2.59. Children showed answering behavior most frequently in evaluative-type of question and least frequently in cognitive-memory type of question.
