D.Buxtehude의 Organ Chorale에 관한 분석 연구

Abstract

Dietrich Buxtehude(1637-1707)는 중기 바로크 북독일 악파의 대표적인 오르가니스트겸 작곡가이다. 그는 덴마크에서 태어난 덴마크인이지만 독일의 성 마리아 교회의 오르가니스트로서, 또 교회 음악 작곡가로서 독일에서 활약하였으며 J. S. Bach 이전에 중기 바로크 예술의 절정을 이루고 있다. 현재 전해지고 있는 그의 작품으로는 49곡의 Chorale형식에 입각한 곡을 비롯해서 27곡의 Prelude와 Fugue, 6곡의 Canzona, 4곡의 Canzonetta, 3곡의 Ostinato변주곡, 그리고 1곡의 Ricercare style의 Fugue둥 41곡에 이르는 비교적 자유로운 형식의 곡을 포함하여 약 90여곡에 달하는 작품이 있다. 본 논문에서 필자는 그의 작품 중 가장 작품수가 많은 Organ Chorale을 택하여 Organ Chorale이 생기게 된 이유와 Organ Chorale의 정의 및 형식등에 대해서 알아 보았고 그의 생애와 일반적인 작품 및 그 특징에 관해 살펴 보았다. 그의 Organ Chorale은 Chorale Fantasy, Chorale Variation, Chorale Prelude등으로 분류되어진다. 이 중 2곡의 Chorale Fantasy와 1곡의 Chorale Prelude를 자세히 분석하여 Chorale을 사용한 작품의 작곡기법에 대한 고찰을 하였다. 분석 결과 Chorale Fantasy는 각 부분마다 특색있는 리듬과 박자를 사용하였고, 모방적 대위법과 3도, 6도, 8도의 선율을 주로 사용하였음이 드러났고 Chorale Prelude는 Chorale이 윗성부에 풍부하게 장식된 것과 짧은 길이속에 대위법적으로 처리되어진 다른 성부의 함축성있는 구성이 그 특징으로 나타났다.;Dietrich Buxtehude (1937-1707) was an organist and composer of the middle Baroque in Northern Germany. He was born in Denmark, But played an active part as an Organist of St. Maria Church and a composer of church music. And he prospered the middle Baroque to the summit. As his works handed down to the present there are, including 49 pieces based on the chorale form, 41 pieces of relatively free forms --- 27 preludes and fugues, 6 canzonas, 4 canzonettas, 3 ostinato variations, 1 fugue of Riecercare style, and about 90 organ pieces. In this study the researcher selected organ chorale, --- in which he composed most pieces among his works --- examined its source, its definition, and its form and investigated his life, general works, and musical characteristics. His organ chorales can be classified as chorale fantasy, chorale variation, chorale prelude, etc. Among them, the researcher studied about the compositional techenique of his works in which the Chorale is used through analyzing two Chorale Fantasies and one Chorale Prelude in detail. Consequently, it is found out that Chorale Fantasy is composed by characteristic rythm and time in each part and mainly by imitative counterpoint and thirds, sixths, and eights. And Chorale Prelude is characterized by the abundant decoration of the soprano part with the chorale melody, and implicative organization of the other parts in short setting.
