아리스토텔레스의 교육원리 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the significance and contributions of educational philosophy of Aristotle . The study was conducted by reviewing the related literatures - Aristotle's works Metaphysics, Ethics, and Politics and other books concerned with the topic of the study. The contents and processes of the research are as follows : In chapter 2, Aristotle's metaphysical concepts were thoroughly reviewed with emphasis of his philosophical methodology; how this methodology was concerned with ethics and how his education was researched . Chapter 3 contained the issue; how ethical and political problems were combined with education when we consider the ethical concepts and the ideal nation as the main subject. In chapter 4, Aristotle's principles of education were analyzed and systemized by researching relationship between his philosophical ideas and educational thoughts. In chapter 5, the meaning of Aristole's ideas in the philosophy of education was summarized and suggestions from this summary were made for the modern education . Consequently, to understand and systematize Aristotle's principles of education is to comprehend the connection of education with his teleological view of the world and the ethical system. In other words, in the philosophy and education , Aristotle persued "Happiness." That is to say that the man's ultimate aim is happiness and especially he tried to make a man with intelligence and a desirable personality through education.;아리스토텔레스의 교육사상에 대한 연구는 많이 이루어져 왔다. 그런데 아리스토텔레스는 독립된 교육학 저서를 남기고 있지 않기 때문에, 그의 교육사상을 포괄적으로 이해하고 정확하게 파악하기 위해서는 그의 철학사상에 대한 연구가 선행되어야 한다. 본 논문은 아리스토텔레스 사상의 교육철학적 의미를 검토하는 데에 목적을 두고, 그의 저서 「형이상학」 「윤리학」 「정치학」 등과 관련 문헌을 통한 문헌연구 방법으로 연구문제에 접근하였다. 연구의 내용 및 과정은 다음과 같다. 제 2장에서는 그의 철학적 방법론에 치중하여 형이상학적 개념들을 명시하고 제 방법론이 윤리와 교육에 어떻게 연결되는가를 살펴보았다. 제 3장에서는 윤리적 개념들과 이상국가를 주제로 하여 윤리적이고 정치적인 문제가 교육과 어떻게 연결되는가를 살폈다. 제 4장에서는 그의 철학사상과 교육사상의 연계성을 찾아 교육원리를 분석·체계화하고자 하였다. 제 5장에서는 아리스토텔레스 사상의 교육철학적 의미를 정리하면서 현대 교육에의 제언을 하였다. 결국 아리스토텔레스의 교육원리를 이해하고 체계화하는 작업은 그의 목적론적 세계관 및 윤리체계와 교육과의 연계성을 파악하는 것이다. 즉 그는 철학과 교육을 일관하여 인간의 궁극적 목적인 행복을 추구하였으며, 특히 교육을 통하여 지성과 인격을 갖춘 인간을 형성하고자 기도하였다.
