성장을 중심으로 한 자연주의 교육

Abstract

이 연구는 루소와 듀이의 성장 개념을 중심으로 자연주의 교육을 고찰한 것이다. 이의 목적은 자연주의 교육이 현대교육 이념에 미친 영향이나 시사점이 무엇인가를 알아보는데 있다. 특히 루소와 듀이를 택한 이유는 이들이 자연주의 교육을 대표하는 인물이라는 점에 있다. 또한 이 두사람은 교육의 과정을 개인의 성장과정으로 본 동시에 성장의 개념을 다르게 파악했기 때문이다. 연구방법은 「에밀」, 「민주주의와 교육」 등과 관련문헌을 통한 문헌연구방법을 사용하였다. 본 연주의 문제는 다음의 3가지 이다. 1 . 자연주의 교육의 일반적인 성격은 무엇인가. 2 . 루소와 듀이에게서 각각 그 성격은 어떻게 이어지고 있는가. 3 . 루소와 듀이의 성장 개념을 통해 나타난 자연주의 교육의 의미는 무엇인가. 이와같은 연구문제에 맞추어 자연주의 교육을 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 즉, 자연주의 교육은 현대의 타율적이고 비자연적인 외부로 부터의 주입적인 교육을 극복하려는 노력이다. 따라서 교육의 주체는 스스로 성장 발달하는 학생이라는 것을 암시해 주며, 나아가서 교육은 인간의 성장 가능성을 최대한으로 개발할 수 있는 것이 되어야 한다는 필요성을 일깨워 준다.;The purpose of this study was to provide a suggestion for the contemporary educational idea by examining the concept of Rousseau's and Dewey's 'growth'. Especially, the reasons for selecting Rousseau and Dewey are as follows: first they are represented in Natural Education and secondly they regarded educational process as process of growing, though they thought the concept of 'growth' differently. The study was conducted by library survey. [Emile] and [Democracy and Education] by Rousseau and Dewey were used as main texts besides other books concerned with the topic of this study. The issues of the research are as follows : 1 . What is the general character of Natural Education? 2. How this character is continued by Rousseau and Dewey? 3. What is the meaning of Natural Education with reference to the concept of Rousseau's and Dewey's growth? In consequence of analyzing Natural Education according to these issues, the writer found out that Natural Education took the contemporary education notice that the core of education is educant, and education must be one that exploit human nature as a whole.
