다문화 시민성 함양을 위한 사회과 교수-학습자료 개발

Abstract

본 연구는 사회과의 교수 · 학습자료를 개발하여 학생의 다문화 시민성을 함양하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 다문화 시민성의 개념과 목표, 학습내용 및 방법을 탐색하고 교수 · 학습자료의 유형과 특징을 파악하였다. 이를 바탕으로 다문화 시민성 함양을 위한 ｢2012 사회과 개정 교육과정 고1 사회｣의 교수 · 학습 방향을 설정하고, 교수 · 학습자료의 선정기준을 근거로하여 자료를 개발한다. 연구 내용을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구의 이론적 기초를 다지기 위하여 다문화 시민성의 개념을 정립하고, 교육목적과 교수 · 학습내용 및 교수 방법을 탐색하였다. 이는 기존의 연구자들의 관점을 통하여 도출하였으며, 학습내용은 인지적, 기능적, 가치 및 태도의 측면으로 구분하여 제시하였다. 다문화 시민성의 효과적인 이해를 돕기 위한 교수 · 학습 방법은 선행연구를 분석하여 활동중심의 교수 방법을 제안하였고, 사회과와 다문화 시민성의 연관성을 민주시민성 함양이라는 동일한 목적 측면에서 찾아보고자 하였다. 둘째, 교수 · 학습자료를 개발하기 위하여 일반적인 사회과 교수 · 학습자료를 분석하였다. 구체적으로 교수 · 학습 방법에 따른 매체의 유형을 파악하고, 학습자료의 추상성 정도에 따른 매체의 조직 방법을 살펴보았다. 이와 더불어 다문화 시민성 교육을 위해 개발된 교수 · 학습자료의 유형과 특징을 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 중앙 및 시도 교육청, 학술정보원, 학술연구 자료를 활용하였으며, 다문화 시민성을 위한 교수 ․ 학습자료의 네 가지의 특징을 도출하였다. 셋째, 고등학생의 다문화 시민성 함양을 위한 교수 · 학습의 설계 방향을 제안하고, 학습목표 및 내용의 설계 및 이를 전달하기 위한 자료 목록을 구성하였다. 먼저, 자료 개발 대상을 선정하기 위하여 ｢2012 사회과 개정 교육과정 고1 사회｣의 교육과정을 분석하였으며, 다문화 시민성과의 연관성이 가장 높은 다양성과 관용영역을 교수 · 학습자료 개발 대상으로 선정하였다. 그리고 고등학생의 다문화 시민성의 향상을 위한 교수 · 학습 설계방향을 시민적 능력에 초점을 맞추어야 한다고 제안하였다. 이를 바탕으로 교수 · 학습목표 및 수업내용을 설계하고 효과적으로 전달하기 위한 교수 방법을 선정하였다. 선정된 학습 주제는 다문화사회 속의 한국의 변화, 문화의 다양성을 존중하는 태도, 다양성의 존중과 사회 갈등 및 해결방안, 사회 불평등 개선을 위한 시민참여이며, 주제별 학습단계는 시민성의 위계를 고려하여 구성하였다. 고등학생의 다문화 시민성 교육을 위한 학습방향을 준거로하여 교수 · 학습자료 목록의 구성하였으며, 자료의 선정은 학습개념 및 자료의 추상성을 조직하여 구성하였다. 넷째, 다양성과 관용 영역의 교수 · 학습자료를 개발하였다. 자료는 사회과 교수 · 학습자료의 기본적인 구성양식을 따라 교수 · 학습 지도안, 학생활동지, 참고자료로 구성하였다. 그리고 교수 · 학습자료의 적용가능성을 증명하기 위하여 교사들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문지는 한국교육과정평가원의 '교수 · 학습자료 선정기준'을 준거로 작성하였으며, 설문조사결과 자료 활용가능성을 긍정적인 평가를 받았다. 더불어 교사들의 의견을 수렴하여 수정 방향을 도출하고 이에 준거하여 자료의 구성을 변경하였다. 본 연구는 다문화 시민성을 함양하기 위한 교수 · 학습자료의 구체적인 개발을 통하여 교사의 교수 활동 및 학생들의 학습 활동에 도움을 주었을 때 의미를 지닌다. 개발된 자료의 타당성은 수업의 적용 및 평가를 통해서 이루어져야 하나 본 연구에서는 설문조사로 이를 대체하여 한계를 가진다. 따라서 본 연구의 교수 · 학습자료를 교육 현장에서 적용하고 효과를 검증하는 후속 연구가 필요하다.;The purpose of this study is to develop teaching and learning materials for cultivating multi-cultural citizenship. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, the concept, objectives and learning content of multicultural citizenship were explored, and the type and characteristics of teaching and learning materials were identified. Based on this, the direction of teaching and learning of ｢the 2012 Revised Curriculum of integrated Social Studies: Social Studies, Grade 10｣ was set, and the teaching and learning materials were developed based on the selection criteria of the data. The results of the research can be summarized as follows: First, to strengthen the theoretical foundations of multicultural citizenship, the concept of multicultural citizenship was established, and the educational purposes, learning content and teaching methods were investigated. The educational purposes were drawn from the point of view of researchers, and the learning content was proposed divided into the cognitive, functional, values ​​and attitudes. The activity centered teaching and learning methods, to support effective understanding of multicultural citizenship, was proposed after the analysis of the existing researches, and was intended find the relationship between social studies and multicultural citizenship in terms of the same purpose of the cultivation of democratic citizenship. Second, in order to develop teaching and learning materials, theoretical basis was hardened through the analysis of general teaching and learning materials for social studies; and the types and characteristics of teaching and learning materials for multicultural education were analyzed based on this. Regarding the teaching and learning materials, the types of media according to the method of teaching and learning were identified; and the configuration method according to the degree of abstractness of the learning materials was examined. Four characteristics were derived for the analysis of the types and characteristics of multicultural citizenship teaching and learning materials using the data from the central and local departments of education, educational research information sources, and academic researches. Third, the direction of the design of the teaching and learning was suggested for the cultivation of multicultural citizenship of high school students; and a list of resources were selected for the development of materials. To select the target materials to develop, the curriculum of ｢the 2012 Revised Curriculum of integrated Social Studies: Social Studies, Grade 10｣ was analyzed; the diversity and tolerance area, which have the highest relevance with multicultural citizenship, were selected as the target for the development of ​​teaching and learning materials. In addition, the design direction for the teaching and learning to improve multicultural citizenship of the high school students was proposed focusing on civic skills. Based on this, the teaching and learning objectives and course content were designed , and the effective teaching methods were selected. The selected learning topics are: the change of Korea within the multicultural society, the attitude of respect for the diversity of cultures, the respect for diversity and social problems and solutions, and the civic engagement for improving the social inequality; and thematic learning steps were constructed considering the hierarchy of citizenship. The construction of teaching and learning materials was proposed based upon the direction of multicultural citizenship education for the high school students; the selection of material was based on the degree of abstraction of learning concept and data. Fourth, teaching and learning materials were developed for the area of diversity and tolerance. The materials were composed of the teaching and learning plan, student worksheets and reference according to the basic construction form of teaching and learning materials for social studies. A survey was conducted for teachers in order to prove the applicability of the teaching and learning materials. The questionnaire was prepared based on 'the selection criteria of teaching and learning materials' of the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation; the survey results showed positive evaluation for the applicability of the materials, modification direction was derived considering the teachers' opinions, and the construction of the materials was changed based on the result. This study will be meaningful when it can help the teaching activities of teachers and the learning activities of students through the concrete development of teaching and learning materials for cultivating multicultural citizenship. There is a limitation in this study that the validity of the developed materials was evaluated by a survey while it should have been performed through the application and assessment in actual classes. Therefore, follow-up studies are needed to verify the effectiveness of the teaching and learning materials of the present study through the application to the field of education.
