역사교육에서의 인물학습 수업방안 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 어떻게 하면 학생들에게 역사를 재미있게 가르칠 수 있을지에 대한 근본적인 질문에서부터 출발하였다. 연구의 목적은 쑨원의 이해를 중심으로 한 인물학습방안을 구상하여 역사수업에 흥미와 동기를 부여할 수 있는 효율적인 역사수업을 모색하는 것이다. 궁극적으로는 학습자의 능동성과 적극성을 강조하는 구성주의 접근법을 인물학습에 적용함으로써 학습자가 보다 능동적인 역사학습의 주체가 될 수 있음을 파악하는 것이다. 인물학습은 학생들에게 역사수업의 흥미와 동기를 가장 효과적으로 부여할 수 있는 수업방안 중 하나이다. 왜냐하면 역사의 구성요건 가운데 인간사는 핵심요소를 이루기 때문이다. 그러나 인물학습은 어떤 인물을 선택하여 수업방안을 구상하는지에 따라 수업의 효과가 달라지기 때문에 학생들의 역사이해 수준과 교육 내용에 적절하며 역사적 사고력을 배양할 수 있는 인물을 선정할 필요가 있다. 연구의 분석 대상으로는 쑨원을 선정하였다. 쑨원은 역사인물선정 기준과 역사교육내용 선정기준에 가장 부합하는 인물이기 때문이다. 그는 한 대륙의 정치체제를 변화시키는 역사적 사건인 신해혁명을 대표하는 인물로서 쑨원의 삶은 중국 현대사 전체의 맥락을 배경으로 하는 시대사 저술과도 같다. 쑨원의 이해를 중심으로 한 수업방안을 구현할 방법으로 인물학습과 구성주의의 이론적 검토 및 교과서 분석을 기반으로 인물학습에 대한 구성주의적 접근법을 적용할 수 있을지 분석하였다. 이러한 분석에 더하여 연구자가 제작한 학습 활동지를 통해 학생들은 인물에 대한 탐구 및 시대의 사회와 문화의 역사적 맥락을 파악할 수 있다. 연구를 통하여 다음과 같은 특징을 확인하였다. 첫째, 인물에 대한 평가를 미리 규정하고 주입하던 방식에서 탈피하여 학습자 스스로 사고하고 능동적으로 지식을 구성해나갈 수 있다. 둘째, 과거 역사적 인물의 행위와 사건에 대한 학습자들의 주체적인 학습은 결국 역사 이해에 대한 탐구와 욕구를 증대시킬 수 있다. 본 연구는 효율적인 역사 인물학습을 위한 단서를 마련하였다. 쑨원에 대한 이해를 심화, 보완하고 학습자가 주체가 될 수 있도록 제안하여 향후 교과서에 새로운 자료를 제작하거나 역사 교사가 학습 자료로 이용하는데 미약하나마 기여하고자 한다.;The purpose of this study was to explore efficient history lessons to motivate students by devising a figure study around the understanding of ‘Sun Wen’. Figure study is one of the effective lecturing methods because human is the core of the history components. So it is necessary to select figures that are appropriate for the level of the history understanding and educational contents. ‘Sun Wen’ is one of the figures representing the Chinese Revolution and he led a life that reflected the history of his times in the overall context of modern Chinese history. He meets the selection criteria of history figure and contents of history education. The development of a figure study around the understanding of ‘Sun Wen’ led to the following characteristics: First, the students were able to think for themselves and construct knowledge in an active manner, growing out of the conventional way of determining the assessment of a figure in advance and injecting it into their minds. Second, the students were able to increase their exploration of and desire for historic understanding by studying the acts and events of historic figures in an independent fashion. The study provides a set of clues for efficient historic figure study. The findings of the study will make even a small contribution to developing new textbook materials and learning materials by history teachers by reinforcing and complementing the understanding of ‘Sun Wen’ and proposing ways for the students to become the subjects.
