음악 관련 민간자격 교육 프로그램의 운영실태 및 만족도 조사

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to research the real condition of the musical education programs in continuing education centers affiliated with universities which are registered in The Korea Association for University Continuing Education, and to suggest preliminary data for better musical education. To achieve these, I studied eighteen musical certificates of education programs in continuing education centers affiliated with universities. I researched this subject in two ways. First, I divided eighteen certificates into five categories: pediatric education of music, piano, korean traditional music, applied music, and psychology of music. I compared these five categories with each other in terms of job specifications and certification requirements. Second, satisfaction research was conducted targeting 112 students. On investigation of job description and requirements for 18 certificates, what they have in common was that students have to meet from 75 to 80 percent of attendance rate and mark more than a certain grade of paper and practical test to get certified. On the other hand, there was a difference in standard training session, limitation on the application due to applicants' academic back ground, conditions on course completion, and methods for the practical test. Satisfaction research consists of characteristics of attendees, the level of satisfaction on education program and individual achievement, and the points they wish to the programs. The result was as follows: In the question of students' goal and motive of the participation in the musical course, ‘To achieve self-improvement and grow musical knowledge’ was placed first, followed by ‘To enjoy hobbies and pastime’ and ‘To acquire a certificate’. Many of people under their 30's and those who have jobs such as a music teacher or private tutor, chose ‘To acquire a certificate’, showing the significant difference compared to choices of other age group and other occupational clusters. In the level of satisfaction, students are the most satisfied in the aspect of ‘self-improvement’, followed by ‘certificate acquisition’, and ‘building musical expertise’. With the result, I could see that those musical education programs are relevant as continuing education since they give a chance to students to feel a sense of achievement through acquiring certificate and achieving self-improvement. The research shows that students want diverse educational programs and improvements on the educational environment. The satisfaction level of the ways of selecting attendees and the number of students in class was low, which implies that musical education needs to be improved both in quantity and quality. To improve educational environment, the study indicates that they need to have practice rooms, support musical instruments and stock space, and provide learning materials. Based on the results above, The fact that students feel the most satisfied with musical courses in terms of self-improvement seems to imply those courses are run, corresponding with the meaning of the musical education program as continuing education. It also has a positive effect in making students feel motivated to study. Distinguishing point of musical education programs for certificate is that music majors expect to enhance their career prospects through attending class and acquiring a musical certificate. In order to develop the educational program, continued study is needed as well as efforts to improve the educational environment, so that effective and professional education can be provided. Besides, institutional strategy should also be considered, which approves those musical certificates as official ones and they can be recognized and become more useful in the musical field.;본 연구의 목적은 사단법인 한국대학평생교육원협의희에 등록된 대학부설 평생교육원의 음악 관련 민간자격 교육 프로그램에 대한 실태를 조사하여 보다 나은 음악 관련 민간자격 교육 프로그램을 진행하기 위한 기초자료를 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 두 가지 방법으로 대학부설 평생교육원의 음악 관련 민간자격종목을 연구하였다. 첫째, 대학부설 평생교육원의 음악 관련 18개 민간자격종목을 다섯 가지 계열(유아·아동기 음악교육 관련, 피아노 관련, 국악 관련, 실용음악 관련, 음악심리)로 나누어 직무내용과 자격취득요건을 비교 분석하였고, 둘째, 현재 서울 소재 대학부설 평생교육원의 음악 관련 7개 민간자격과정 수강생 112명을 대상으로 만족도 설문을 실시하였다. 음악 관련 18개 민간자격종목의 직무내용과 자격취득요건을 비교 분석한 결과 18개 종목의 공통점은 자격을 취득하기 위해서는 75∼80% 이상의 출석률과 자격시험인 필기시험과 실기시험에서 기준 점수 이상을 충족해야 하는 점이었고, 차이점은 표준교육시간의 차이, 지원자의 자격에 있어 학력의 제한 유무, 수료요건의 조건의 차이, 실기시험 방법의 차이의 4가지였다. 만족도 설문은 수강생의 특징, 교육 프로그램에 대한 만족도와 수강생의 성취정도에 대한 만족도, 교육 프로그램에서 만족하는 점, 교육 프로그램에 바라는 점으로 구성하여 실시하였고 설문에 대한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 설문대상인 대평교협에 등록된 서울 시내 대학부설 평생교육원의 음악 관련 민간자격과정 수강생이 자격과정에 참여하게 된 동기와 목적은 ‘자기계발과 음악적 소양을 키우기 위하여’, ‘취미·여가 생활을 위하여’, ‘자격증 취득을 위하여’의 순서로 나타났으며, 30대 이하와 음악강사, 개인레슨의 경우, ‘자격증 취득을 위하여’를 주로 선택하여 다른 연령, 직업에 비하여 유의한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 수강생의 대학부설 평생교육원의 음악 관련 민간자격 교육 프로그램에 관련하여 만족하는 것은 자기계발, 자격증 취득, 강사의 음악적 전문성이었다. 수강생은 음악 관련 민간자격 교육 프로그램을 통해 자기계발과 자격증 취득을 통한 성취감을 이루고 있으며, 음악 관련 민간자격과정이 학습자의 자기계발 측면에서 평생교육으로서의 의의가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 음악 관련 민간자격과정의 수강생은 교육 프로그램의 다양화와 교육 환경에 대한 개선을 바라는 것으로 나타났다. 수강생들의 수강생 선발 방식과 수강생 인원 수에 대한 만족도는 낮아, 이와 관련하여 교육 프로그램의 양적, 질적인 다양화가 이루어져야 하며, 교육 환경의 개선을 위해 연습 공간의 제공, 악기 지원과 보관, 학습매체 등의 지원이 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 위의 내용을 바탕으로 수강생의 만족도가 자기계발의 측면에서 가장 높게 나타난 것은 음악 관련 민간자격과정이 평생교육으로서의 음악 교육적 의의에 가장 부합되게 운영되고 있다고 보여진다. 이는 평생 학습자의 학습 동기와 관련해서도 긍정적인 교육적 효과이다. 또한 다른 평생교육의 음악 프로그램과 차별화된 민간자격과정으로서의 특징은 음악 관련 전공자들이 자격 취득을 통한 직업 활동에의 도움을 기대하고 있다는 점으로 나타났다. 음악 관련 민간자격의 발전을 위해서는 교육 환경에 대한 지원과 함께 직업 활동에 필요한 전문적인 교육이 이루어지기 위한 지속적인 연구가 필요하다. 나아가 음악 관련 민간자격이 사회에서 인정받으며, 직업에의 활용도를 높일 수 있는 제도적인 연계 구축을 위한 환경이 마련되어야 한다.
