프레지를 활용한 다문화 음악수업 교수·학습 자료의 개발

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to suggest positive possibility of multicultural music lessons by using Prezi through developing teaching materials and conducting surveys. And, is to estimate its effectiveness. The study has been done on the literatures regarding the direction of application in the music education utilizing presentation, the concept and characteristics of PowerPoint and Prezi and the direction of multicultural music education. Based on these, this study established the grounds for the contents and organization of multicultural music education and the suitability of Prezi as a utilizing tool. Afterwards, the teaching materials for Turkish folk song, "Üsküdara", by using Prezi has been developed. And the materials was applied to the actual music lessons for 64 students in the 7th grade. Also, the surveys and interviews has been conducted with the students and it verified the effectiveness of the multicultural music lesson that uses Prezi. The results are like the following: First, the sophisticated and diverse visual materials and design elements that use Prezi drew out the students' interest toward multicultural music lesson, and it gave positive influence on the students' concentration, memory and understanding. Second, the integrated presentation of visual materials using Prezi produced a smooth learning flow for multicultural music lessons. Third, the functions of Prezi such as the storytelling organization and screen transition worked as positive elements on learning the social and cultural backgrounds and areas of music activity. Forth, the teaching method of multicultural music education which starts from the approach in cultural context gave motives for learning the musical concepts and brought positive effects in the areas of music activity. Also, it provided a foundation of understanding and accepting other cultures and gave help in learning concepts of value. Fifth, Prezi was evidenced to get more positive responses than PowerPoint when we compare the application, and it showed a possibility as a new tool that could replace PowerPoint. On the other hand, a few problems were found in teaching and learning materials for multicultural music lessons by using Prezi. They are the problems of Prezi's funtion for screen transition, image resolution, internet connecting and the reduced time for the areas of music activity. In conclusion, the this study predicts that Prezi can show diverse possibilities for application in the areas of multicultural music education. Also, it would make a contribution to the expansion of music teachers' teaching methods and the saving of their research time. I suggest that further studies regarding plans and methods of teaching music of various countries should be conducted in order to develop more suitable application of Prezi for multicultural music education. And that further development and validation studies should be conducted regarding the application of Prezi in the areas other than multicultural music education. Also I expect that the methodical research regarding Prezi application and training for teacher's research become vitalized. With the result, it can help the research of educational aspect that uses Prezi become more specific and expanded.;본 연구의 목적은 프레지(Prezi)를 활용한 다문화 음악수업 교수 학습 자료를 개발하고 설문조사를 실시하여 프레지를 이용한 다문화 음악 수업의 긍정적 가능성을 제시하고 그 실효성에 대해 가늠해보고자 한 것이다. 먼저, 프레젠테이션 활용교육과 음악교육에서의 적용방향, 파워포인트와 프레지의 개념과 특징, 다문화 음악교육의 성격 및 방향에 대한 문헌연구를 하였다. 이를 바탕으로 다문화 음악수업의 내용과 구성, 활용할 도구로서의 프레지의 적합성에 대한 근거를 정립하였다. 이후 프레지를 활용하여 터키민요 '우스쿠다라' 수업의 교수 학습 자료를 개발하고 중학교 1학년 64명을 대상으로 실제 음악수업에 적용하였다. 또한 그 대상으로 설문과 면담을 실시하여, 프레지를 활용한 다문화 음악수업에 대한 효과성을 검증하였고 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 수준 높은 다양한 시청각자료들과 프레지를 활용한 디자인요소들이 다문화 음악수업에 흥미를 이끌어냈고, 학생들의 주의집중력, 기억력과 이해도에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 프레지를 통한 시청각 자료들의 통합적 제시는 다문화 음악수업에 원활한 학습흐름을 이끌었다. 셋째, 프레지의 스토리텔링 구성과 화면 전환기능 등은 사회, 문화적 배경의 학습과 음악 활동 영역의 학습 모두에 긍정적인 요소로 작용하였다. 넷째, 문화 맥락적 접근에서 출발하는 다문화 음악교육 교수방법은 음악적 개념학습에 동기를 부여하였고 음악활동 영역의 학습에도 긍정적인 효과를 가져왔다. 또한 타문화에 대한 이해와 수용의 바탕을 마련하고 가치적 개념학습에 무리가 없게 하였다. 다섯째, 파워포인트와 프레지의 활용비교에 있어서 프레지가 더 많은 긍정적 반응을 얻었고 파워포인트를 대체할 수 있는 새로운 도구로써의 가능성을 보여주었다. 반면에 프레지를 활용한 다문화 음악수업 교수 · 학습 자료의 문제점들도 발견되었다. 그 문제점에는 프레지 화면전환기능의 문제, 이미지해상도나 인터넷상황에 따른 문제, 음악적 활동영역의 축소 현상 등이 있었다. 이 같은 결과를 토대로, 본 연구자는 프레지가 다문화 음악교육 영역에서 다양한 활용가능성을 보여 줄 수 있을 것으로 예측하며, 음악교사들의 교수방법의 확장과 연구시간 단축에 큰 기여를 할 수 있을 것으로 보았다. 또한, 앞으로 다문화 음악교육에 적합한 프레지 활용개발을 위해 다양한 나라들의 음악수업에 대한 지도안 및 교수법 연구가 이뤄져야 할 것과 다문화 음악교육 외의 영역에서도 프레지 활용에 대한 개발 및 검증 연구가 이뤄질 것을 제안하였다. 그리고 프레지 활용에 대한 방법적 연구나 교사연구를 위한 연수가 활성화되어 프레지를 활용한 교육적 측면의 연구가 좀 더 구체적이고 확장된 연구가 되기를 기대한다.
