음악의 조기교육에 관한 인식 및 실태에 대한 조사 연구

Abstract

음악적 능력은 다른 능력에 비해서 조기에 발달하기 때문에 유아기에 음악능력을 개발시킨다는 것은 즉 조기음악교육은 매우 중요한 의미를 갖게 된다. 이런 면에서 볼 때 최근에 와서 유아의 조기교육, 그 가운데서도 특히 조기음악교육에 대한 관심이 매우 높아지고 교육대상자수도 크게 늘고 있음은 반가운 일임에 틀림없다. 유아의 조기음악교육에 대한 인식이 높아지고 또한 그 대상도 확대됨에 따라 조기음악교육의 효율화 문제는 무엇보다 시급히 연구되어야 할 과제로 등장하였다. 그래서 유치원교육, 초등학교교사, 학부모, 교사양성기관의 학생별로 약 300명에게 음악의 조기교육에 대한 필요성 및 인식을 질문지를 통하여 조사하였고 그 결과를 분석하였으며, 이를 토대로 하여 우리나라의 조기교육에 대한 방향 및 방법을 제시해 보았다. 그 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었는데, 첫째는, 조기교육에 대한 관심도가 많이 대두되고 있으며 또한 그 필요성 역시 많이 제창되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 흔히 사용하고 있는 조기교육이라는 말은 음악적인 발달과정에 있어서 유아기가 매우 중요한 시기를 차지하고 있다는 점을 알 수 있으며 인식도 매우 높은 것으로 생각된다. 그러므로 조기교육의 중요성이 거론되고 특히 음악을 비롯한 다른 예능부분에서도 조기교육문제가 활발히 제기됨은 부모들의 관심이 날로 높아지고 있다는 현상이다. 둘째, 유아의 음악적환경은 인격형성과 음악능력의 발달에 큰 영향을 미치는 가정환경이 중요시되며 특히 유아를 둘러싼 음악적 환경은 지적 수준을 높이며 인격의 기초를 닦은 생활의 장인 동시에 능력의 발달에 많은 영향을 미치는 분위기를 조성함이 중요한 의미를 갖는 것이라고 지적되고 있었다. 또한 음악성의 인식도 하나의 연주기능이 아닌 음악의 창조적인 재능과 이해하고 해석하는 재능으로서 다른 능력에 비해 음악능력의 개발이 기술면보다는 근본적인 환경의 중요함을 알 수가 있다. 셋째, 바람직한 음악교육의 조건의 달성은 어린이 생활에 영향을 주는 환경으로 가정과 학교와 생활의 환경이 삼위일체가 되어 생활에서 오는 음악적 환경을 조성함이고, 그러므로 어떤 음악활동을 시키느냐에 있어서도 음악과 생활과 관련시켜 생활하게 하는 것이 가장 기본적이며 모든 것이 환경과 결부되는 단계로 본다. 거기에 따른 기대는 취미나 적성 소질을 봐서 전공을 함으로서 좀 더 효율적인 방법이 전개되어 가는 것이라고 요약되었다. 가정의 음악학습지도와 다른 교과의 지도에도 종전의 부수적인 교과로 인식되었던 시대에 비기면 많은 변화가 있지만 음악학습의 지도에 대한 필요성이 좀 더 구체화 되어야 함은 사실이다. 이렇게 되기까지의 가정환경이란 많은 사람들의 생활 속에서 음악적 분위기를 즐기고 이해하는 여건이 부각되어야 한다고 본다.;Musical talent, as compared with other aptitude, develops early in the infantile stage. In developing musical talent, therefore, an early musical education of infant bears a very great, significance, In this respect, it is encouraging to note t□t popular interest in the early education of infants, particularly of musical education, has risen appreciably, and that the number of infants being trained has been growing steadily. With the increasing understanding of the need for an early musical education of infants and thc growing number of the pupils undergoing such an early education, the question of efficiency in the early musical education has emerged as a great, task to be studied urgently. This study has been conducted on some 300 kindergarten instructors, primary school teachers, parents, teacher training institutes, and students. To compile statistics for analysis, 4he questionnaires have been sent to them, inquiring on their opinion and understanding of the needs for early musical education of their infants and pupils. Through the analysis of data made available, the writer has endeavored to present reasonable directions and methods of the early education in Korea, The results of this study are summarized as in the following. First, the degree of interest, in the early education hae been rising, with the advocacy of its need. It. is found that the infantile stage takes a very important period in the development, of musical talent, although the often-spoken term "early education" sounds a little ambiguous. The degree af understanding of the need for an early education also stands very high. Their patents' interest, has been growing in the early musical education. This has been attested by the fact that, the importance of early education, particularly in the artistic fields including music, is discussed actively and often. Second, in the musical environment of infants, importance is attached to their home environment, which has a great influence on their character building and their development of musical talent. In particular, a musical environment is their place of life where their intelligence level is elevated and where they build up their own character. It is also important, therefore, to create some favorable climate for helping develop their musical talent. The understanding of musical trend does not necessarily mean any performance talent. It refers to the understanding of the creative musical talent and the ability to understand and interpret music. Un1ike in other faculty, it is important to create fundamental environment, needed for the development of musical talent, rather than for development, of skill. Third, the desirable conditions for their musical education means a well-integrated favorable environments of their home, school and life, which affect the pupil's living. Accordingly, in determining what kind of musical activities should be taught, music should be related closely with their life. This is fundamentally important because everything the infants have is closely related to their environment. More efficient means than in the past can be developed by having the infants major in some particular musical. courses depending on their taste and aptitude. In the past,, music had been understood as a subject, incident, on other study courses. Much has changed in the guidance in music study at, home and the guidance in other school courses now. It, is desirable, however, that the need for the guidance in music study should be developed more in detail. To this end, home environment, should be improved so that many can enjoy and understand musical environment in their living.
