음악전공학생의 욕구성향에 관한 실태연구

Abstract

교육의 궁극의 목적이 인간이 지니고 있는 지? 정? 의 등의 모든 잠재적 가능성을 최대한으로 개발시켜 완미한 조화를 이루는데 있고 예술의 본질이 미적 조화에 있다면 음악의 본질도 미적인 것이기에 음악교육도 음악에 의한 미의 교육이며 음의 미가 질서에서 이루어지는 조화일진데 음악을 교육함은 인간조화의 교육이 될 수 있는 것이다. 그런고로 인간조화를 위한 교육은 인격형성의 완성을 목표로 하여 민주사회에 필요로 하는 바람직한 교육이라 생각할 때 음악교육은 인간교육의 출발이며 자주적이고 창조적인 인간을 만들기 위한 기본이라 할 수 있겠다. 따라서 인간의 생활 전 과정을 통해서 음악에 의한 교육의 중요성은 재인식되어야 하며 특히 학교교육에 있어서의 음악교육의 중요성은 학습자의 바람직한 인간교육 즉 자주적이고 협동적이며 적극적이고 창조적이며 심미적 인격형성의 방향으로 더욱 강조되어야 하겠다. 한편 인간의 모든 행동은 어떤 원인에서 기인해서 일어나는데 그 행동을 규정하는 하나의 요인은 외부로부터 오는 자극이고, 다른 하나는 내부적 상태인 것이다. 개체가 소유하고 있는 욕구가 바로 그것이다. 이와같이 개체를 내부적으로 움직이게 하여 행동에까지 이르게 하는 요인인 욕구성향을 파악한다는 것은 어떤 집단의 성격과 미래의 진로 결정과 내적 의욕 유무를 판별해 줄 것이며 동시에 해결점을 제시할 것이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 음악전공학생의 욕구성향에 대한 검사를 설문지를 사용하여 22개의 질문을 통해 알아보았다. 1. 음악대학생의 자기 전공에 대한 만족감은 본인 스스로 좋아서 택한 것이기에 비교적 만족하고 있으나 그다지 높은 만족도는 보이고 있지 않다. 따라서 열심히 공부한다는 반응도 높지 않고 평범한 상태를 보이고 있는데 반면 열심히 안한다는 반응도 적지 않은 수를 보이고 있음은 재고해 보아야 할 문제라고 생각한다. 2. 졸업후 장래에 대한 희망상황은 외국유학을 희망하는 학생과 학교에 종사하기를 희망하는 학생이 많은 것으로 보아 이에 대한 기회가 마련되어야 하겠고, 아울러 졸업후 전공을 계속하고 싶다는 절대적인 반응은 퍽 다행스러운 일이며 이는 앞의 전공에 대한 만족도의 반응을 뒷받침 한다고 볼 수 있겠다. 3. 교과과정상의 문제에 대한 의견으로는 대체로 현 과정을 수긍하는 편이나 교수의 지도면에 있어서는 만족스럽지 못하다는 반응으로 보아 비과학적이고 형식적인 무성의한 교수법에서 벗어나 보다 창의적이고도 체계적, 적극적인 지도가 요청된다 하겠고 아울러 부전공의 필요성도 강조되고 있다. 4. 음악대학 입학시험에 대한 의견으로 자비고사와 일반학과 시험의 일부 반영을 찬성하고 있고 전공실기 이외의 악전? 시창? 청음 시험에 대해서는 꼭 포함시켜야 한다는 데 의견을 일치하고 있는 것을 미루어 보아 일부 대학에서의 실기위주의 평가는 많은 문제점이 있다고 생각된다. 따라서 이상의 점들이 개선되면 음악교육계에 크게 기여할 수 있으리라 기대되는 바이다.;If the ultimate goal of education is the accomplishment, of consummate personal integrity through development to the maximum degree of man's potential in all the aspects of intelligence, sentiment and volition, and if the import, of art is oriented toward aesthetic harmony, then music education is a tool which helps to develop the aesthetic sense by means of harmonious sounds. here again the ultimate goal is human integrity of harmonious order. In this connection, music education plays an important role in developing a creative, progressive and independent personality in man. Therefore, the importance of music education throughout, the human life should be emphasized. It is high time that, greater emphasis was given music, especially in school curriculum, as a means of cultivating consumate human personality. It is the writer's intention to determine the short-comings and remedies there of the present system of music education through an investigation of the wishes of students majoring in music in college where students are being trained as teachers of tomorrow. (Of course, not all music majors are destined to teach in their time. But, they all will play a part, direct or indirect, in music education in the wider sense of the ee term.) The important factor of motivation behind the human behavior is desire. It is desire which determines the reaction of m,.n to his environment. To have a correct picture of the desire of a given group in society, therefore, is to have indicators of the future path of that group as well as of problems lying on that path. This is more so in the case of the students of music because of music's appeal is mostly to the human sentiment, rather than to the human intelligence. This researcher obtained information on the foremost desires of students studying music at college through a 22- item questionnaire. A summary of his findings is given below: 1. The students are fairly satisfied with the fact that they arc majoring in music. This seems natural since the subject is closen by their own volition. But, there was no general enthusiasm shown in responses given to the questionnaire. A considerable portion of the replies reflected apathy toward the subject. The researcher thinks that some remedy is called for here. 2. A majority of the students expressed the desire to continue their study abroad or teach at schools after graduation from college. A very large portion of them said that they would continue to study music. It is hoped that, they will be given the opportunity to follow the paths of their choice. 3. Regarding classes, a majority of the students expressed the hope for a more scientific, creative, positive and fruitful manner of teaching. This calls for improvements in teaching attitude and techniques. A desirable approach seems to be the maintenance of a dialogue between teachers and students in a friendly atmosphere. 4. As regards the present college entrance examination system, a majority of the students expressed opinion in favor of imposing both musical talent, and liberal arts as test subjects. This is encouraging because unlike foreign musical institutes where emphasis is given preponderently on actual performance skill education in liberal arts as given in Korean colleges helps develop all-round personality in students. Further serious studies on the above, the research believes, would help encourage the students in their study of music.
