- Abstract
- This theses is a study on the change that the movie, imported into Korea toward the end of Yi dynasty, underwent to grow into today's image-aesthetic movie, suffering from the various hardships and oppressions.
When imported, the movies were the fascination existence and have been, and are growing tremndously in accordance with the populace.
Imported under Japanese control, the movies were deprived of the freedom of expression through image upon the screen, and had to undergo sufferings and opressions. But upon the Liberation of August 15, 1945, the artists, regaining freedom, commenced to freely achieve activities in the various fields. After sufferings and hardship imposed upon movies for a long time, the movies accerated their rapid growth after the Liberation and have been under the legal influence of goverment patronage and encouragement and control since the May 16 military revolution.
The moives, having close relationship with the vulgar and audio-visual effect upon the populace immensely, are under the goverment control to be promoted and encouraged in their production.
From the above mentioned view points, those engaged in the movie production, the people in the goverment, and the audience must cooperate for the movies' fullest growth and development.
