플래시를 이용한 아이콘 언어 설계 및 구현

Abstract

본 논문은 그림으로 모든 사고를 전달할 수 있도록 그 기반이 되는 아이콘 언어를 제안한다. 아이콘 언어를 사용하면 언어의 다양성을 극복할 수 있으며 동일한 개념을 글로서 표현하는 것보다 훨씬 작은 공간을 차지한다. 또한 의사소통이 원활하지 못한 장애인의 의사소통과 글을 읽지 못하는 유아의 창의성 계발 관련학습에도 응용될 수 있다. 그러나 아이콘 언어는 음성언어를 통하지 않고 시각적 기호로 표현하므로 복잡한 개념을 표현하기에는 너무나 어려운 문제들이 가로놓여 있다. 즉, 아이콘으로 표현하기에 무리가 따르는 대상들이 많이 있으므로 자칫하면 아이콘의 수가 매우 많아질 수 있다. 또한 아이콘으로 의사를 표현해야 하므로 다양한 통사규칙 등을 규정해야 하는 단점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 단점을 극복하고자 본 논문은 아이콘 언어의 문법규칙을 제정하고 그 틀에 맞추어 의미표현이 가능하도록 아이콘 문장을 설계하고 아이콘 언어 편집기를 구현하였다. 문장설계에 있어서는 문장성분별 문장설계를 통해 아이콘 언어를 설계하였으며 편집기는 적은 용량으로 다양한 파일 형식을 지원하며 많은 사람들이 쉽게 접근 할 수 있는 플래시 프로그램을 이용하였다. 또한 의미의 모호성을 배제하기 위하여 사용자가 예측 가능하도록 현실적이고 직관적으로 명백한 아이콘을 설계하도록 노력하였다.;This study proposed an icon language as a medium for communication using pictures. An icon language is useful in overcoming the diversity of languages and occupies much less space than texts in expressing the same concept. In addition, it may be valuable for the disabled who have difficulties in communication and for infant education related to the development of creativity. However, as an icon language expresses using visual signs without spoken words, it is extremely difficult to describe complicated concepts. That is, because there are too many objects that are unreasonable to express with icons, we may have to use a large number of icons. Furthermore, in order to communicate intentions using icons, there have to be various syntactic rules. In order to overcome such shortcomings of an icon language, this study defined the grammatical rules of an icon language, designed icon sentences based on the grammatical frame to express meanings, and implemented an icon language editor. The icon language was designed through sentence design by sentence component, and the editor was implemented using a flash program in order to support various file formats with a low capacity and to provide many people with easy access. In addition, icons were designed to be practical, intuitive and distinct so that meanings expressed by them are not ambiguous but predictable by users.
